“love it”

Bring back the old charm of old Paris, small hotel, adequately sized room, friendly staff and good food. Two small elevator function efficently. Near to the shopping district and the grand post office. Also near to the MRT station (Tafourah).

I enjoyed my time at the Albert hotel. It's conveniently located in downtown Algiers near La Grande Poste, and many restaurants. They have a nice little bar in this hotel. The rooms are decent, and I had WiFi in my room.

We spent a total of three nights here as part of a group tour of Roman sites in north-east Algeria. Each member of staff was friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. For our first two nights we had a small, but comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the bay and the small park extending down to the waterfront. At the end of our tour we had a suite of two rooms with a view down a small lane. This latter accommodation was quieter, but both were more than satisfactory. Dinner was efficiently served and was nicely presented. Breakfast featured delicious baguette and a selection of pastries as well a good French-style yoghurt. The wi-fi was free and worked pretty well. The hotel was clean and - in the local context - extremely good. We would gladly return.

“It's location is good”

We stayed at this hotel for three nights because of the closeness to places we wanted to visit. I think in a place like Algiers where traffic is so incredible and cars do not stop for pedestrians unless one walks in front of them. The closer one is to where one needs to be the better. We stayed at this hotel for three nights because of the closeness to places we wanted to visit. I think in a place like Algiers where traffic is so incredible and cars do not stop for pedestrians unless one walks in front of them. The closer one is to where one needs to be the better. The hotel needs a lot of renovations. The rooms we stayed in were small and one of them had the smallest slither of a bathroom where going in sideways was the only way. We always had to request an extra bath towel as only was was given per room. This we found everywhere in Algeria. We wanted a big bed but on both occasions had to settle for two very narrow single beds. I don't know if they have big beds here. The breakfast was the very typical French style bread rolls and coffee. We had dinner on two occassions and both times they were ok. Being on a lower level we heard the traffic noise, on the higher level seemed better. The staff here are very good and obliging, the front desk is an experience, no computer check in but two very big books hand written. It was like going back in time. This hotel served its purpose. Wifi was free and good.
