We found this Posada by chance as our planned two week stay in Mendoza Capital fell through. We ended up extending our stay to 11 nights and really enjoyed every single one of them. The rooms are spacious as well as the bathrooms. There was a courtesy wine bottle of Pinot Noir in the room and a pair of nice wine glasses. Rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily. Bed and sheets always smelled fresh and were comfortable. There is turndown service every night and if you choose not to take it, you can always take the treat! The staff was meticulous at keeping the property spotless even after the “Zonda” winds hit bringing sand and all kinds of leaves, specially in the fall! The common rooms, such as the dining area have a fire running in the morning when the temperatures can drop significantly. Since we ended up staying so many days, the staff offered various dining options and we always found the offerings to be very authentic and traditional! Since the Posada is part of the Bodegas Salentein property, plenty of good wines are available. We had our own car and found the location centrally located relative to the many bodegas we wanted to visit from Agrelo down to La Consulta / San Carlos. Proximity to Tupungato offers added flexibility. Overall days and nights are very quiet. If you walk the property which is quite large, you can spot foxes, hawks, owls and many beautiful birds. It all depends on what you are looking for. We found everything and more than what we expected. We hope you do the same!!

“What a place!”

We used the Posada as the base for our touring through the Uco Valley. The landscape includes the distant view of the Andes mountains. We used the Posada as the base for our touring through the Uco Valley. The landscape includes the distant view of the Andes mountains. We hired a private driver (the best way to tour the wineries because the zero tolerance for alcohol for drivers) and toured three wineries daily plus lunch & dinner with degustations. The accommodations were excellent, The restaurant for breakfast and dinner excellent as well. Do not miss the adjacent Kilka art gallery and restaurant. Service overall outstanding. We plan to do it all over again!

“Quiet, views, food, relax”

Great place to stay in the Valle de Uco area to enjoy the mountain views, wine, and food of Mendoza. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, restaurant is a few feet away with a delicious menu. Great place to stay in the Valle de Uco area to enjoy the mountain views, wine, and food of Mendoza. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, restaurant is a few feet away with a delicious menu. The entrance for it was a little tricky because gps took us on side road (rock road) instead of main entrance which is better (still rock road) but direct into hotel and going through winery and church. Follow small signs posted in Rt 89 for main entrance

Whether you like Posada Salentein depends on whether you value your creature comforts,  as well as the atmosphere,  and whether you care how much you pay.   At this price point,  I would expect luxury hospitality.   In fact,  the rooms have damp and plumbing problems,  rubbish sheets and towels, and none of the usual little touches.  Service is  friendly and inefficient (it took 30 minutes to check out: no queue, no problem, just slow!).  To be fair,  the location is better than most: sitting slightly higher than most of the Uco valley, with some views,  and it's very private. And yes,  it has a certain (pretend - the buildings are modern) old-world charm, and the bodega is great.  To judge by the reviews, this may be enough for some,  perhaps package tourists who don't know what they are paying.  Do yourself a favour, and go elsewhere!
