“Best place to stay for day trips to the park”

I will start by saying that the guides ( Renee and Nicole) were outstanding. The meals at the lodge are excellent and the staff very nice and attentive. I will start by saying that the guides ( Renee and Nicole) were outstanding. The meals at the lodge are excellent and the staff very nice and attentive. We loved staying in the domes, even the shared bathroom dome was clean with hot showers. The reason for the 4 rating is the night you stay in the Refugio, not very organized or clean and the food is cafeteria style and fair at best. The other reason for the 4 is the first day we waited a while for another person to arrive and that meant we didn’t get the the camp until after 6 and we had to meet at 7 to go over the next day plans. There is a beautiful yoga studio and it would have been nice to have had time to take a class. The treks were challenging and fun. Our guides took great care of us and we always felt safe. The weather unfortunately was not cooperating and we had rain, snow, wind , sleet and some sun. My advice is to bring cloths for every type of weather because it is Patagonia and the weather can change in a minute. Overall this is the best place to stay if you want to hike and see this area without carrying all of your gear. Also you are only a 6 hour drive away from El Chalton in Argentina. Many people were doing both countries.

“Wonderful stay in the Patagonia Mountains.”

Spent two nights here in late February. one of the most memorable places that we have every stayed. The views were beautful. The food was fantastic and the help was very nice. We took one long hike that was great ane beautiful. I will only say that the wood stove does not burn long enough overnight. We woke up cold at 3AM and had to get a fire restarted.

For what they are, the Eco Domes are fantastic. When we arrived in the afternoon and the rooms were warmed by sunlight I was totally impressed. The room is attractively decorated, the beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was really impressive given that we were essentially in a highly structured tent. I really enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners there, as well as the packed lunches to go. The location is phenomenal and was just what we were looking for as we wanted to be as immersed as possible in Patagonia. The problem, and why I only gave it 3 stars, was the sleep quality. Once the winds start howling, which they will, the soft covers of the domes start flapping loudly and sometimes frighteningly. Even with earplugs it was disturbing. Our first night we opted for a fire in the stove which certainly warmed the room initially, but overwhelmed us with campfire smell which made it hard to breathe/sleep. We did not tend the fire at night because we wanted the campfire smell gone and of course were exceptionally cold once we got up in the morning (the beds were comfortable and warm). I hardly slept at all that first night. The next night we opted for no fire, which means we were even colder in the morning. As much as I wanted to love these Eco Domes, it was not a comfortable stay.
