“Convenient Stay in Mount Isa”

We enjoyed our one night stay at the Spinifex Motel when we stayed in Mount Isa. Nice modern room, spacious and clean. Friendly helpful check in. Good location. Off street parking. Room was air conditioned for comfort. Handy kitchenette with a microwave and fridge.

Can’t thank Management enough. Service is amazing. Rooms are very modern, clean and comfortable. They are pet friendly and very accomodating with my little dog. “Nicest accom’s I’ve found in Isa”

Have stayed in most places around Isa since 2012 and have found Spinifex to be the nicest. Overall have stayed here 3 times now. Might be a bit too far a walk to the CBD for some and the car park is pretty narrow with shade cloth rather than a roof. Rooms are decent size, modern enough and there’s… lisää

“Great accommodation not a good restaurant”

We have stayed here before and as such had no hesitation in staying her again but this time the stay was disappointing. We have stayed here before and as such had no hesitation in staying her again but this time the stay was disappointing. The room was amazing, king bed, quite comfy and plenty of room and a sink with microwave, kettle and toaster as well as a table, 2 chairs and a settee to relax on. All utensils were supplied and coffee and accompaniments were kept in the fridge. We were downstairs so the was a small secluded seating area at the back of our room. The shower was good and hot but there was only 1 tiny soap to use. My issue was with the wifi and the food. The wifi kept dropping out - probably because it couldn’t take the use it was getting from all guests. But it’s frustrating when you are trying to use it. In the end we jumped our phones as we needed to use our devices for business. As for the food. That’s just the pits. It was a very small menu to select from, and it would seem some things were packet purchased and just deep fried. Neither of us wanted fries just salad and that was so small we needed to put on our glasses to see it. 1 very small cherry tomato cut in 1/2 about 12 English spinach leaves and a lucky dip find of cucumber. There was a store bought scoop full of coleslaw and an empty area where the chips would have been - judging by other plates we saw. No dessert- none on the menu so we couldn’t even top up with that. We could not get a gin and tonic either. They had no gin. Previous stays have not shown this sort of mediocre menu. The lady seemed to be doing it all - cooking, serving, taking orders and cleaning the tables. I assume she also did the dishes. After that we went back to our room for raisin toast and a coffee. This is a great place to stay for room quality but find somewhere else to eat.
