This is a really good hotel based in the heart of Hobart. First impressions aren’t great as you come off the hustle and bustle of Liverpool Street through a smallish dark lower lobby. But everything changes on the 4th floor level which opens up into a spacious and welcoming reception/bar/restaurant area. The reception staff are extremely friendly and informative and will do all they can to support you, including a room extension if you are catching a mid afternoon flight. Everything, apart from its Main Street entrance is impressive right down to the very cool room cards made of bamboo. The rooms are very well appointed with a large window either overlooking Hobart town and harbour or looking out to the towering Mount Wellington. There is a very clever lighting and window blinds/curtain console by the bed. The bed itself is very comfortable as are the pillows. The shower/bathroom is good and, again very stylish. We stayed at the hotel twice and the first time was lucky enough to be on a package which included being members of the Club Lounge which allowed access to the 12th floor lounge. Here you get free eats and drinks in the evening and a brilliant cooked breakfast menu in the mornings. At 125 dollars cost it probably appeals to business clients (who also get use of a meeting room as part of the package) but we were delighted to take advantage. Breakfast in the main restaurant is also very good but perhaps a little busier. WiFi was a little erratic in parts of the hotel and no water is provided in the rooms. There is valet parking available at 40 dollars a night. The harbour and Salamanca shopping and restaurant areas are a 10 minute walk away. A brilliant place to start and finish your visit to Tasmania.

“Friendly modern and super comfy”

Modern and welcoming hotel in central Hobart. The rooms are clean, bed super comfortable. Nice spacious bathroom, very clean. Weekend stay and could not hear any noise apart from one siren heard by my friend but I didn’t. Great location to shops and short walk past historic buildings and parks… lisää

Great location to shops and short walk past historic buildings and parks to the wharf and Salamanca place. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and coffee.

“Great location and comfortable beds”

I stayed 2 nights and the hotel rooms are large with a comfortable bed and well kept and very clean. The pillows are soft and good and the air conditioning was perfect. I ordered room service and the cheeseburger was a little soggy and drenched in mayonnaise and the chips were cold. The lifts a… lisää

I stayed 2 nights and the hotel rooms are large with a comfortable bed and well kept and very clean. The pillows are soft and good and the air conditioning was perfect. I ordered room service and the cheeseburger was a little soggy and drenched in mayonnaise and the chips were cold. The lifts are slow and they need more of them operating to cater for a full hotel. The location is perfect and right in the middle of the CBD but still quiet. I had an upper floor room and the views were great. I would definitely stay again.

“Ok but not great”

Don’t stay at this hotel on a Friday night if you like sleep. We stayed for 2 nights to finish off our trip to Tasmania before flying home but the hotel is next to/on top of a night club that had live music Friday night that we could hear even in our room on level 8 and less loud music Saturday n… lisää

Don’t stay at this hotel on a Friday night if you like sleep. We stayed for 2 nights to finish off our trip to Tasmania before flying home but the hotel is next to/on top of a night club that had live music Friday night that we could hear even in our room on level 8 and less loud music Saturday night. I was going to request to move rooms but read similar reviews where people were moved to the other side of the hotel and it was just as bad so didn’t bother. Check in was quick but dropping the car off for valet at check in meant we had to do a few laps of the block before a space to stop near the hotel was available. Cars are taken off site and you’re asked to give 30mins notice when you wish to use it so just something to keep in mind. The hotel has 3 lifts but one was out of order for the duration of our stay and on two occasions had to open the lift door with our hands when it arrived on ground floor. The room had all the usual things you come to love about a reliable brand and the room was spotless.
