It is not often that a B & B exceeds expectations and this was the case for us last weekend at Donalea. Not only are the hosts helpful and friendly but they also ensured that we had everything we needed. For breakfast there was home made bread and jam plus croissant and plenty of tea, essential for us Brits! The room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom which was generous in size.

“A Hidden Gem”

We stayed 3 nights in the two bedroom self contained apartment. It was very private and had all the amenities that makes your stay enjoyable. We stayed 3 nights in the two bedroom self contained apartment. It was very private and had all the amenities that makes your stay enjoyable. Don & Leanne were excellent hosts but did not intrude on our privacy. They added personal touches (like home made fruit cake on arrival) that were very much appreciated. The location provided an excellent base to explore all the treasures of the Huon Valley with a miriad of eating place options within a short driving distance. We would highly recommend Donalea for a couple with or without a couple of children.

“Very hospitable”

This B&B is well located in the Huon Valley with a lovely outlook over the river. Leanne and Don are professionals, and know how to look after their guests. This B&B is well located in the Huon Valley with a lovely outlook over the river. Leanne and Don are professionals, and know how to look after their guests. On arrival there is home made cake ready for you, and Leanne explains everything to you about the accommodation. The continental breakfast was very filling, and once again there were some home made treats. We needed to get some laundry done and Leanne was more than happy to assist. The accommodation is set in a great position overlooking the river, and in a great area to do day trips. A lovely spot run by lovely people.

“Below expectation”

What to say about this B&B. You have more than enough space, that's for sure. All though if you stay with four people the bathroom might be pretty small (we stayed in the appartment). View is nice, but not breathtaking. Isolation is poor, so you will defenitely hear traffic noise. Through the night… lisää

What to say about this B&B. You have more than enough space, that's for sure. All though if you stay with four people the bathroom might be pretty small (we stayed in the appartment). View is nice, but not breathtaking. Isolation is poor, so you will defenitely hear traffic noise. Through the night it's mostly quiet. Furniute and decoration is old fashioned but ok. If you have a car it's an option for one or two nights, but don't expect something special. And know that wifi isn't great. One suggestion for the owners: you simply can't sell this as 'breakfast included' the way you do it now. So provide a proper brekkie or don't do it at all. And we found dirty glasses, so do check if everything is clean before new guests arrive.
