“Great hotel and location”

Great hotel! Location is close to shopping and walking distance to Gothic Quarter. Room was spacious and clean. Love how they have a whole bar set up in room! That's cute! Great hotel! Location is close to shopping and walking distance to Gothic Quarter. Room was spacious and clean. Love how they have a whole bar set up in room! That's cute! This hotel is very artistic and have many great art everywhere. Air condition was kind of weak at night but breakfast was delicious! Lots of options! Restaurant was also delish!! Rooms were not too loud. We slept fine. We did have to ask for amenity kit since there was nothing in room. Staff were very friendly. We never get disappointed with service. From the staff at front door to in house staff, everyone was just so nice and helpful.

We are regular Melia Group hotel visitors but it was our first time in this hotel. The location in the city of Barcelona was perfect for us - everything felt accessible whilst we were there; the only time we used transport was from the airport to the hotel. The staff we interacted with were all excellent; professional and took a keen interest in you as a guest. We were on a room only basis but had breakfast on the last day as we needed to get to the airport for our flight home - breakfast was again dealt with professionally by all staff and the offering was very good. We also had a drink on the rooftop bar and in the Belbo Luma bar. Again, excellent service and well priced for the standard of the hotel. Our room was spotless; well equipped and very comfortable. A good, powerful shower with good quality products to use. Three bottles of water provided every day. Very quiet also. We did have one downside - when checking in, reception charged our card €100 per day up front for any charges that we may incur. This seems very excessive. It was taken from our travel cash card so this was a big hit when we had planned a budget for our stay. As it is, we paid for our drinks as we went, as well as the city tax and the breakfast that we had, so the €400 was reimbursed in full after checking out. we have never been asked to pay as much as this up front for incidentals at any hotel we have visited - maybe we should have challenged it at the time. Overall, we would recommend this hotel. Location; room quality and service levels are all to a high standard.

Great location, but service and room quality are far below expectations While the hotel’s location is excellent, the overall experience has been extremely disappointing, especially considering the price point and the expectations set by an FHR (Fine Hotels + Resorts) booking. First, the room "upgrade" was misleading. We were assigned a ground-floor connecting room that lacked a bathtub, which felt like a significant downgrade. Regarding the exterior, while there is no direct noise from the construction site, the lack of privacy is a major issue—workers walk right past our window throughout the day. This forces us to keep our windows closed at all times, making the room feel enclosed and stifling. The service, particularly regarding dining, is subpar and disorganized. On our first day, we arrived for lunch around 3:00 PM, only to be told there was no space and asked to return an hour later—a baffling experience for a hotel of this caliber. During breakfast, the staff seemed more interested in chatting with each other than attending to guests. As for the breakfast quality itself, it is very average, with no refined or high-end options to justify the hotel's positioning. Given the significant gap between the advertised luxury standard and the reality of the service, I would rate this experience 3/10 at best. I cannot recommend this property if you are looking for a quality stay in Barcelona.

Very friendly staff but bad management, everyone we encountered are friendly and polite, which made us very comfortable and relaxed but obviously they were over-worked and extremely busy for them due to short - staffed.
