This is a really pretty hotel in an old building set around a courtyard full of flowers. Our room and bathroom were very spacious and had heating which was very welcome at night. The breakfast buffet was very nice with a number of hot items cooked to order. The hotel has some quirky areas such as a reading room full of comfy sofas and a spiral staircase to a roof terrace with seating. The hair dryer was one of those which was attached in the bathroom and isn’t very powerful so I asked at reception if they had another. They said they would have to ask the owner. Later they told me that if the owner had one they would bring it to me in the morning. Unfortunately by the time they turned up next day we had been up an hour, showered and had breakfast so it was too late. It just seems odd that in a hotel of this standard they don’t have any spare hairdryers. The hotel is a 5 minute walk down to the main square which is ideal because it means that it is very quiet although I don’t know why but when we were there there were a lot of brass bands practicing from early in the morning to quite late at night. It didn’t disturb us though and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

“The place to stay in Sucre”

Mi Pueblo Samary was a brilliant place to stay in Sucre. It felt great the moment that you walked through the hotel door. Mi Pueblo Samary was a brilliant place to stay in Sucre. It felt great the moment that you walked through the hotel door. Built around a central courtyard, with lots of greenery and a fountain, the hotel had many nice seating areas and fantastic views from the roof terrace. Rooms were very comfortable and full of character. Breakfast and other dining was first class. Staff were very friendly and helpful, organising a taxi to get us to Uyuni. Difficult to imagine a better place to stay in Sucre. Really felt sad to leave. Hotel is only a few blocks from the centre of the old town which is full of very nice historic buildings. Got to be one of the nicest cities in South America. Key places to visit in Sucre include Iglesia de San Felipe de Neri (Open in afternoon, great views walking outside on the roof - we needed to press the door bell on street entrance to get in - very small charge) and the Casa de la Libertad just off the main square.

“A lovely place to stay in a lovely town.”

This boutique hotel is fabulously located in the heart of Sucre in a colonial mansion. Our room had a lovely view of the interior courtyard and the rooftops of Sucre beyond. This boutique hotel is fabulously located in the heart of Sucre in a colonial mansion. Our room had a lovely view of the interior courtyard and the rooftops of Sucre beyond. The room itself was tastefully styled with local,artworks, decorated bedsteads and colourful tapestries. A nice breakfast room on (I think) the sixth floor which had fabulous views over Sucre. The hotel team were very friendly and always helpful. A lovely place to stay in a lovely town.

It may be a boutique hotel but it ain’t a 5-star hotel. Good thing, it is moztly centrally located but still quiet at night. It may be a boutique hotel but it ain’t a 5-star hotel. Good thing, it is moztly centrally located but still quiet at night. Some of the rooms are apparently from colonial times, at one time also having the Brazilian Consulate there, the other rooms are newer but have vintage look about them. The room is spacious but still room only for 1 suitcase with difficulty and no way you can open another suitcase. There are 2 small chairs and a table in the window but no other furniture for sitting, so you have to lie on the bed. The bathroom is very small with a walk in shower but on some days there was no hot water in the shower. For a “5-star” hotel there is no kettle in the room, there is a coffee maker but you have to pay 20 bolivianos for each capsule, on the first nght we did not have drinking water provided in the room. The maid service is less than satisfactory. They did not vacuum the floors or empty the rubbish bin. The building has 3 floors but there is no lift. The breakfast and dining rooms are on the top floor, so you have to walk up at least 2 floors, not easy at an altitude of 2800 metres. You have to get there very early for breakfast as by 8:00 am not much is left. Apart from cooked eggs, to order, there are no hot dishes. Overall the breakfast is fairly ordinary for a claimed 5 star hotel. We asked for a boxed breakfast, 1 vegetarian and the other no ham. The boxes said Queso but one of the sandwich was ham and cheese, disgusting. On Sunday there is no dinner available at the hotel. There is a well designed courtyard garden with a small fountain with sitting areas, surrounded by the rooms. Quite a peaceful place to sit and chat. Overall it is a boutique but not a 5 star hotel.
