Vanessa and her staff are amazing hosts to this amazing lush tropical paradise that made us feel like we disappeared into a world of our own. The facilities were excellent from the beautiful pool with swim up bar, the cabana and breakfast area, to the rooms equipped with cable TV, full shower, and clean linens throughout. We stayed in a room for four and had plenty of space, and peace and quiet. The hammock and chairs on the front porch of our unit created a beautiful place to hang out and listen to the birds chirping in the courtyard garden. For breakfast they offered a menu of choices that you select the night before which ensures they don’t waste food and that everything is fresh. This includes bacon and omelettes, breads, cheeses, fruits, and smoothies. Our kids loved the sweet breakfast items like the carrot cake and cinnamon rolls. Most important, this Pousada was located 5 min from the shopping and restaurant center which is closed to traffic at night. It’s not to be missed. You can also walk 10-15 min to the nearest beach or a bit longer to Pitinga, which was a much quieter and nicer beach with beautiful cliffs.

My wife and children (ages 5 and 6) stayed at Pousada Paraiso Ecologico for three days at the end of August and loved it. The owner and staff were above and beyond friendly and accommodating spending hours talking with us and the kids. There was only one other couple staying there while we were there and it felt like we had the place (pool, well manicured gardens, breakfast) to ourselves. The breakfast was the best of the places we stayed on this trip with a spread of different fresh juices, fresh fruit, breads, cakes, meats, cheeses, yogurts, granolas, and a menu of eggs and tapioca to choose from. It was our own buffet given we were the only ones eating breakfast each day. We had a car but never needed it; everything (beach, shopping, restaurants) is around the corner. The strong reviews for this pousada are well earned. We had a great time and happily recommend it for anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Arraial d'Ajuda.

“Feeling at home in Arraial d'Ajuda”

It was the most cosy stay of my life. The place is beautiful, the accommodations are excellent and everything has been tastefully done. The service is the best in Arraial d'Ajuda. The manager (Vanessa) and her staff make you definitely feel at home.

Lovely gardens. Nice spacious rooms. Tasty breakfast and really nicely presented !! For me I just felt uncomfortable around the staff. Apart from one nice girl at reception, the rest of them didn't come across all that friendly or welcoming. It's interesting because I read a review on TripAdvisor from a guest who had a similar experience. The owners just walk past you without even saying hello (this I felt was extremely inpolite) and I found myself saying good morning or good evening to the staff never the other way around. I think the owners need to rethink their approach here. Not to even acknowledge your guests is not very nice.
