Recife doesn't really have a high-end hotel market, and this might be best hotel in town. It is certainly modern and attractive, and definitely better than you would expect of a Novotel if you knew the brand from Europe (where it feels very mid-market). Pros: - the pool and gym are very good. The pool is one of the few we found on our trip to Brazil that was long enough for lap swimming. It's quite funny what some Brazilian hotel consider 'swimable'. At its longest, the pool here is >25m - the rooms are attractive. Oddly the bathrooms feel much more functional than the bedrooms. The beds are rock hard, as are the pillows. Probably a minority taste. Cons: - the marina location seems great except that you can't go anywhere on foot. We were advised not to cross the bridge (next to the hotel) to visit the old city. There's definitely a visible edge to anything immediately around the hotel. - the dining in the hotel, and the attached Bargacao restaurant is basically off limits if you don't want/eat shellfish. I have never seen menus with so much shrimp and octopus in everything. The sushi restaurant opposite is fantastic (unlinked to the hotel), but you need to book because it's super popular. - the front desk is kind but weird that our bills were worked out with a pencil and we never received an invoice (whereas in Brazil every other hotel send us a very formal one).

One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at and the staff is so kind and generous ❤️ I will definitely come back. Made me feel so welcome

“Feels soft open”

I spent one week. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is good. I really like to cleaning guy ( Eduardo, he did a great job in our room. Overall was good, the front desk staff seems in training and do not speak English fluently.

The hotel is beautiful, with lots of great amenities. And THE FOOD. Yum. The restaurants in the hotel are amazing, and bargaço (across the lobby entrance) is a lovely local restaurant with some of the best seafood around. Although, if I were to knit pick, the breakfast was a little lacking (the fruit selection was bad, they could have at least been ripe. And the croissants were a disappointment.) Ana Patrícia and Ana Karolina were very kind and helpful. Accommodations were lovely, beautiful view. Overall, I’d say probably the best place to stay in Recife.
