I stayed here for a night as a stop over. so many birds chirping in the morning and you can see caymans around the vicinity. Rooms were clean. I stayed here for a night as a stop over. so many birds chirping in the morning and you can see caymans around the vicinity. Rooms were clean. They had towels, shampoo and soap, and air conditioner in the room. Food was ok. There a lot to choose from. I would say it is the typical Brazilian breakfast and dinner. They have a pool but I wasn’t able to use it. There are parts where you can sit and watch the river and animals. All in all, it’s a good pit stop

sparse rooms, sheet left on bed to make yourself. Air Conditioning was adequate. Food was the worse we had on our trip. Pool was green and they were trying hard to get it back. It has a great location and really could be a great place to stay

“OK but poor service overall”

We stayed at Hotel Pantanal Mato Grosso for 2 nights on our way back towards Cuiaba. The location is nice along the Pixaim River (esentially an oxbow lake) but I think most travelers could do without the outsized fake animals and billiard/ping pong tables. We stayed at Hotel Pantanal Mato Grosso for 2 nights on our way back towards Cuiaba. The location is nice along the Pixaim River (esentially an oxbow lake) but I think most travelers could do without the outsized fake animals and billiard/ping pong tables. Several productive trails are on the property and it was nice being able to get out on the "river" for wildlife viewing. Our room was rather small and cramped with a queen bed plus twin bed. Fortunately we had a small anteroom where the mini fridge was located where we could store luggage. The bathroom was also very small and the towels provided were stingy to say the least. One bath towel each and only one hand/face towel for 2 of us. I did ask for anther and they provided it but I shouldn't have had to ask. There was also no housekeeping provided during our 2 day stay, not even to empty the wastebasket. WiFi was good during our stay. The restaurant service was slow and one evening we waited 30 minutes for a drink. Overall, the food wasn't great and vegetarian selections were non-existent. The desserts were consistently poor - mainly gelatin concoctions I was unable to identify. If we're ever in the area again we'd stay at another of the lodges nearby.
