Trancoso is a very special place and it comes more special due to the Pousada Tangará. All the workers are more than kind, they have the "Bahia's way" to host and serve. The beach is fantastic and even more fantastic if you decide to have a meal in the Tangará's Beach Restaurant. Chef Edson (aka Negão) made unforgettable meals that fitted with that such scenario. Highly recommended!!!!

“Paradise in Trancoso”

This is my 3rd year staying at beautiful Tangará. Each stay has been unique, as there is always something new, a mural painted on the wall, a new lounge area at the beach, a different tropical bird painting hanging in the bedroom. The charming rooms and gardens of Tangará are always impeccable and the staff are welcoming and friendly as are Aurora and Tupá, the reception's resident birds! Waking up each morning requires some decision making after opening the shutters to the beautiful garden with its super tall palm trees. Shall I walk across the grass for a dip in the pool, stroll down the path and across the little lake to the ocean, or go directly for a delicious breakfast? Since am not the only one who has returned to Tangara, I have have met several friends here and love to be surprised seeing familiar faces at breakfast time. I also love being able to select a CD to play, something not often found in today's world of digital music. Delicious snacks and Caipirinhas are served at the beach and lunch under the veranda of the outdoor dining room. While its a challenge to leave this paradise, the walk in both directions along the beach from Tangará is beautiful, to the Quadrato in one direction an Rio da Barra in the other. Either way is around 20 minutes and it's best to go in low tide to cross the small river outlets on the way. The Quadrado is just a few minutes away by car or motorbike.

“Great location at the beach. Great service at the beach.”

It is located at the best beach arra of trancoso. Very quiet. Good service at the beach. The “Lima da Persia” is the best caipirinha to have. Also good “casquinha de siri” for a starter. Lovely view. The pool is not front ocean. Nor the rooms. But all the beach chairs have service, and shadow.

We stayed at the Pousada Tangara in July 2017, and we loved the experience. The property is beautifully maintained and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. We stayed at the Pousada Tangara in July 2017, and we loved the experience. The property is beautifully maintained and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. We arrived quite late due to flight delays, and the office and restaurant stayed open late to welcome us with a meal that was delicious and very well prepared. The staff also left us a chilled bottle of champagne, which was a nice touch. How to describe the beaches of Trancoso? They stretch as far as the eye can see with white sand, blue water and almost no other people on the beach. It is truly a slice of paradise. If you choose to stay here (or anywhere on the beach for that matter), just be aware that you will have to taxi a taxi or other transport to get to the village of Trancoso. We didn't find this to be limiting, as taxis were plentiful. The cost of a taxi was about USD$8 each way when we stayed there.
