The reason we booked Pousada Cala D'or was that they offered free parking. The location is quite good: it only takes a short walk to get to the centre/to the beach. Another positive thing was the breakfast: there were lots of options to choose from (the homemade cake was delicious but the juices were too diluted) and the breakfast room had an amazing view to the pool, the village and the mountains. Too bad that we stayed there only one night and were not able to enjoy the pool. Our room had a small balcony which was nice, too. Unfortunately there was some kind of strange smell in the room that was rather annoying (luckily we did not stay in the room for a long time). The reason I did not give a higher rating to Cala d'Or was that the pousada was reluctant to change our booking from two to one nights. I did not notice that changes free of charge had to be made 30 days before arrival (usually in booking.com the time when you can make changes for free is much shorter).We had to send several e-mails and make several phone calls to fix this (the pousada claimed that booking.com did not allow to make the changes but it was not the case)

Basic rooms within walking distance of Orla Bardot and restaurant/shops area. Cons: The water in the shower was cold; Wi Fi didn't work in the room and was intermittent in the common areas; breakfast lacked variety (mostly breads and cakes, juices were watery); the grounds weren't well kept, with tools and rusted nails, and trash left behind everywhere. Decoration on the cheap side, like plastic trash can in room, or mismatched pool umbrellas with some advertisement... nothing huge, but if you like fancy places, this is definitely not for you. Pros: friendly staff gave us a map and directions on arrival; 5 minute walk to center and 10 min walk to Joao Fernandes Beach; parking. There is no laundry nearby and clothes/towels may not get to dry overnight outside on the balcony if it is humid; we walk all around the place and then got in the car to the nearest laundry at Estrada da Usina Velha, approx. 1 mile from hotel next to the Don Quijote Hotel. Be aware of locals at make - shift parking lots, if you park near those lots, you can find your tires damaged or your mirror removed (that was our case) because you didn't pay them to park in their lot.

ROOM: As most of people has already stated, the room is very basic, but still big and comfortable. It has LCD TV, A/C and bathroom was big and clean. I do not need anything else in a beach place, as I'm only going to be inside the room to sleep at nigh. BREAKFAST: I've visited several pousadas in Brazil serving great breakfasts. While this pousada didn't offer a great one, it must say that they do have several option for you to choose (4 different juices, cakes, fruit, cereals, etc.). It was acceptable. SERVICE: It must say that the staff of the pousada must be their best asset. Specially the reception guy that works at night, Ronnie, who was waiting for us when we arrived on a Saturday at 5am in the morning. Every single night he told us which places we should visit and gave us a lot of information about the city and explained us how to get anywhere we wanted to go!

I stayed there for a few days with a friend. The pousada in itself was ok. The room had nothing special, but there was an air conditioner which was great. I found the bed horrible because there was some sort of plastic sheet under the sheet but it can be removed. The breakfast was not very good ex… lisää

I stayed there for a few days with a friend. The pousada in itself was ok. The room had nothing special, but there was an air conditioner which was great. I found the bed horrible because there was some sort of plastic sheet under the sheet but it can be removed. The breakfast was not very good except for the cakes made everyday which were excellent (I wanted to eat cereal one day but couldn't even finish them, they were stale....!!!). But the people there are really nice and will help you if you need it!! A piece of advice, don't take their boat tour for 40R$, you can find the same one for 30R$ in town.
