“Weekend Travel”

Best place to visit as couple since it has most romantic view and facilities! Beautiful location and excellent facilities! Already stayed there twice and would definitely visit again whenever want to have some relax time!

Very beautiful, with mountains nearby, fresh air, cozy place and very very well maintained. I recommend the experience as a couple or as a family. We went as a couple and enjoyed it very much. We will come back in a new opportunity.

My wife and I were looking to take a break from São Paulo over the long(ish) independence weekend to make the trip to Campos do Jordão. We found a deal on booking.com for this lodge (pousada) which fit all 4 of us (incl 2 kids - 6 and 10) and included breakfast for 4 days/ 3 nights. Upon arrival, the host manager received us as we pulled up the driveway and checked us in, while also helping to bring our bags to our room. The manager also makes a whtasapp contact available to be able to provide tips or address any specific issues whenever needed. As the cabins don't have intercoms, this is a very convenient and modern solution. When we checked in we also received a suggested itinerary of things to check out in the area, which is pretty cool considering we have no idea what is near what. That said, we ended up cherry picking stuff and enjoyed the weather. The location of this pousada is at the end of a cul-de-sac on the side of a hill so you have to hike a ways to get to the main road and except for some trails you can do on foot, you pretty much need a car to get around. I have to say, the managers were exceptionally cordial and attentive - definitely in line with others' reviews. While most of the photos on the site remitted the idea of a 2-floor private chalet, in reality most of the rooms are cabins, that while comfortable, didn't have quite the charm of the posted photos. The cabin we stayed in had 2 bedrooms with a shared bathroom in the middle and a rustic kitchen at the end of the hallway. Overall, the cabin was in decent condition and clean, but some small details suggested that a little maintenance would have given a bit more refinement for the price of about $270/night (R$1300). For example, the threshold molding that holds down the carpet where the bathroom door to the bedroom shuts came loose and often prevented the door from shutting properly. Also, one of the bathroom towel racks was not firmly attached to the wall. Finally, there was an annex to an adjacent cabin that was being renovated, but the door was not locked on the inside, so my wife pushed the couch in front of that door in case someone somehow entered the unoccupied cabin and tried to enter our space. (On the 2nd day, the room cleaners put a key on our side of the door to be able to lock it from the inside). One of the real conveniences of this particular cabin was that we had a little park in the backyard that had brand new swings, seesaws, and merry go round. For a 6 yr old and 10 yr old this gave just enough excitement and diversion to keep them busy when we were changing or getting ready to go out. Also gave an additional activity to keep them from just watching TV. The landscaping of the whole complex is pretty nice; there was a nice spot near our porch that was great for some sunset photos. Also, there was a mini soccer field at the bottom of the hill where I went to dribble with the kids. There was also a lounge/club chalet which we visited, but the manager told me that while the guests were free to use it, it had been closed to the public since the pandemic and it looked like it could use a little dusting. Hopefully "post-pandemic" it will come back to life. Also, looks like some spots are under renovation and there were an assortment of doors and uilding materials lying around the parking area - would be a nice touch to keep these items in storage or inside one of the cabins under renovation. Breakfast service started at 830a and since we are early risers, we were typically the first to serve ourselves at the buffet. The homemade foods, breads, and juices were fresh and tasty. Typical Brazilian breakfast fare with hot drinks, cakes, scrambled eggs, cold cuts, etc. The pandemic requires using plastic gloves to serve the food - an effort to safeguard, but somewhat inconvenient (frankly, not too much to do about this). Overall, we had a nice e stay and took advantage of the great weather to enjoy the outdoors including some stargazing. The staff were very nice and attentive. Despite some loose ends in the cabin, it was very comfortable and the right size for the four of us. For $270/night in Brazil, it is a bit expensive, but I have seen that lots of places in Campos do Jordão are pricey, so maybe it's not too unreasonable.
