The reason why I didn’t give the hotel a 5 stars rating is because the room we stayed the shower door never closed (broken) the water enter the rest of the bathroom and made it unsafe specially for me traveling with kids, very slippery because of the amount of water. Another reason is because there were a piece of furniture that was broken and I had to ask the front desk to remove it from the room during our stay. I never had a chance to watch tv since we were very busy visiting all the attractions in the city,never had to turn the ac on since the weather was just perfect! Warm during the day and cold at night. The hotel is amazing! They have a water park (the kids loved) the water was extremely cold but they also have a heated indoor pool that we ended up using it the most! Their food was amazing, huge variety for breakfast and the dinner offered with our stay was also excellent. (Breakfast & dinner included) I asked around and I was told this hotel is just the best one in the area. Free WiFi & free parking also. All the employees no exception were amazing, they are all very loving and kind, extremely helpful. Whatever I asked they did without hesitation. From the time we arrived till the time we checkout. Don’t think twice just book it, it’s worth the price, just make sure to ask for a better room. The view from the hotel is breathtaking! They had a party for 2 nights in a roll called “festa junina” a typical party for Brazilians with typical food that was so delicious, live music and lots of dance! We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

“The best hotel in the region”

I spent my birthday there, and it's very good! Well located, peaceful and with very good food, it's located around a beautiful lake and unforgettable landscape. In the region you can also find many options for leisure.

We had some problems getting through to the hotel for our reservations. They didn't reply to the webform we had sent then through their website. We had some problems getting through to the hotel for our reservations. They didn't reply to the webform we had sent then through their website. An email address is not to be found on the site, but eventually I did find it: recepcao@balneariodolagohotel.com.br. I think they are only Portuguese speaking. The Balneario do Lago hotel is a large complex, maybe a little dated, with about 53 rooms in different sizes. I think it is really a holiday destination for Brazilians, built about 25 years ago. There is a large waterpark on the premises (this has been added over the years) and there are all sorts of activities on the lake (which was a bit low - and seems to have been low for some time already). There is also a large pool area with sun beds and tables and chairs. There is a heated indoor pool, too. The hotel has a lot to do for children (ping pong, volleybal, etc) so it is really a family destination. And they do functions on the weekend. It wasn't very busy at all when we were there (during the week in Brazilian winter). The dining room offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. BF en dinner are usually in buffet form, although they did dinner a la carte as there were only 3 rooms occupied. They used the lunch menu, which offers a bit a variation. Food quality was ok, but do not expect star quality. The state of the hotel is good, although it isn't very luxurious and a bit dated. It was clean, though, but not of this time. The pool bar has a good caipirinha.
