The couple who run this guest lodging are calm relaxed, maybe even hippyish. The rooms are not what Europeans would call luxury, they are basic although the gardens are relaxing and lush with a range of tropical plants and trees. This is the exciting part... Whilst having breakfast a family of Sajui (miniature monkeys) came to join us. They were tmid and had been visiting the owners occasionally for a prepared slice of banana. They didn't come near the tables and we were only close enough to see them close up without frightening them off but hat an amazing natural experience! Breakfast was usual for Brazil, a mix of breads, cakes and fruit, pretty much as expected. Funny to see the Brits not making the effort to say "Bon Dia" to the other locals but rather look at each other or their food to avoid talking... Come on gus, get with the environment and make the effort, it will be rewarding for you and you find out a little more about the wildlife too.

“Very calm pousada and nice bungalows”

My partner and I spent two very nice and quiet nice in this nice pousada. The bed was comfortable and the shower with great pressure! Big TV if you are interested. We were not aware about the pool but there is no pool. The only negative point: the breakfast was not great, quite basic.

We stayed here three nights early Dec 2013, mosty based on commentaries on Booking,com. Most entries are correct : the beds are very solid, rooms are basic but clean, and Internet via wifi is available, Marcos is a great host indeed, breakfast is good, but his bar is still "work in progress" and there certainly is no pool.......what happened? Hard to imagine we missed it in this 6-room Pousada :-). Paraty itself is a great Portuguese colonial gem with excellent restaurants, lots of live music everywhere and a great atmosphere, but it is half an hour walk from the pousada...bit far!!

“Very friendly host!”

We stayed at Marco's pousada for 3 nights and really enjoyed it! Marco is super helpful and friendly. He provides tips on what to do, where to go and where to eat. The father of Marco is also a lovely man who is trying to help out whenever possible and he makes the scrambled eggs for breakfast wit… lisää

We stayed at Marco's pousada for 3 nights and really enjoyed it! Marco is super helpful and friendly. He provides tips on what to do, where to go and where to eat. The father of Marco is also a lovely man who is trying to help out whenever possible and he makes the scrambled eggs for breakfast with so much love and dedication. As this was our honeymoon, Marco also gave us an excellent bottle of red wine. Very attentative from him! The rooms are a bit basic, but have all necessary comfort and are very clean. If you have loud neighbours, you might need some earplugs. The breakfast is very good with tasty pastry and scrambled eggs upon request. The B&B is located at about 25min by foot from the historic center. The walk itself is safe even at night if you return after diner. If you mind walking, you should book a hotel closer to the center. There is also a small but very nice and clean swimming pool. Very relaxing after a day of walking/hiking/biking. If you do not mind walking, we would definitely recommend this place!
