My wife, in-laws and brother-in-law spent Christmas at Bora Bora, and it was fantastic. The staff was all very nice and accommodating. The beach was clean and well kept. The water was crystal clear and was like a pool. The breakfast was by far the best we’ve ever had (and we’ve been to several beach resorts). Chef Elon and his wife prepare everything fresh…every morning. They put their heart and soul into the food. From the breads and salgados to the cakes and fresh fruit, it is by far the best breakfast we’ve had anywhere in Brazil and in the U.S. The beach front restaurant has great food and great service as well. The rooms were nice, clean and updated. If you don’t feel like going out to eat dinner every night, the kitchen and BBQ’s allow you to have everything you need for a long stay. Lot’s to do within walking distance including a grocery store. Bora Bora is the best beach resort we’ve been to in Brazil, it’s perfectly priced and we can’t stop thinking and talking about the breakfast. We can’t wait to go back again soon.

“The Only Place For Us in Bombinhas”

We have stayed here 4 times, each time with other families. There are two pousadas on the property, this one Bora Beach which is apartment style (we always rent 2 bedrooms with 2 full baths, living room, kitchen and balcony with traditional brazilian bbq) and Bora Bora which is hotel style. The two operate together like one large pousada. Each have their own lobby but you can check it at either and have to go to the Bora Bora front desk for beach towels. On the property there is a spa (but I've never seen it in use), a small unsupervised kids area (for very young kids), a games area (good for rainy days), a breakfast buffet (the best we've ever had at a Brazilian pousada, and we have had many), a sushi restaurant (very good) and at the beach another restaurant that serves typical Brazilian food (either while you sit on the beach or up on the deck). The property is right on the beach but most rooms either do not have a view or have a small view. The beach is beautiful and the pousada is located at the Northern end, which is the best. Beach chairs and umbrellas are free to use at the beach for guests, and the waiters will bring you food and drink and take care of you all day. The staff is excellent and always have at least one person on duty that speaks English. Comparing to the cost of accommodations in Brazil (which is not cheap), this place offers great value for your $$ spent. We have brought many different friends with us, and all have loved the experience. The last time we visited there were many new shops and restaurants on the main road, which we think is due to the construction of the main road on the neighbouring beach, Bombas. In the past I would say restaurant and shopping variety could be improved, but this last visit showed that it has. There are also many many beaches in this area that you can drive to and explore, although Bombinhas is our personal favourite.

Location cannot be beat - right at the beginning of Bombinhas Beach. All rooms completely renovated in July 2012, so the interiors are in really good shape. Location cannot be beat - right at the beginning of Bombinhas Beach. All rooms completely renovated in July 2012, so the interiors are in really good shape. Most rooms are located along a long corredor that leads from the street out to the beach. There is a patio entry for each room on one side and a door-entry on the other. Our accommodations had one bedroom with AC and flat-screen TV, a pretty nice bathroom which was roomy except for the space in front of toilet, and a living room with faux-leather sofa bed, flat-screen TV, and a mini-kitchen. The patio has a small, round table with two chairs. We had a Sunday afternoon lunch there and it was a nice spot for it. There are a couple privacy issues. The craftsmanship on the interior doors of our apartment was not done right, so neither the bedroom door nor the bathroom door shut properly. They were too big for the door jamb. Oops. Also, there was an awful lot of foot traffic right outside both the patio and the front door, and people can see right into your rooms. No cable TV, and the signal was very poor. Don't come here if you want to watch TV. Wireless internet was reliable, but slow. Don't come here to surf the internet. There is a bar/restaurant right on the beach that is great. We spent a couple hours of our Saturday afternoon there. Nice spot. Breakfast is great. It is served in a second-floor room with large windows with street views. It is a very pleasant space. Staff are very helpful. We would return here.

Even though we made the reservation in October, 75 days before, we were put in the back of the hotel. The rooms are spacious with kitchenette and a living room and a terrace with bbq. Even though we made the reservation in October, 75 days before, we were put in the back of the hotel. The rooms are spacious with kitchenette and a living room and a terrace with bbq. However the beds are extremely small I am not even a big guy (1,70) nor is my wife. Going in January you have to be prepared to protect every inch of beach, there is no clear rule for the placement of umbrellas and they go all the way to the water. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The food at the beach is overpriced and not all that good.
