Hotel Zibamba

“Lovely old world charm”

A beautiful colonial style building on the waterfront in Sao Francisco. We had a beautiful room on the second floor with a great view along the historic water front. Fairly basic but with a lovely ambience- fully recommended.

Stayed for a day in this hotel while in transit. Sao Fransisco do sul is beautiful city and can see a lot of Brazilian culture. It was a pleasant stay in hotel though rooms are not that spaceous. We had issue with hot water for shower as the temperature could not be control effectively. About surrounding as you walk ou,t the jetty is at a walking distance and you can spend ur evening looking at beautiful sea. Loved the place

“Location is good, rest average”

Hotel Zibamba is located in Rua Fernandes Dias, which oversees harbour. The location is excellent as it has a superb view of the bay and mountains. On the interior front, it has a rather large lobby and waiting area with leather sofas, water and coffee/ tea, The floor is tiled though not ceramic. … lisää

Hotel Zibamba is located in Rua Fernandes Dias, which oversees harbour. The location is excellent as it has a superb view of the bay and mountains. On the interior front, it has a rather large lobby and waiting area with leather sofas, water and coffee/ tea, The floor is tiled though not ceramic. Same is the interior in the rooms. The rooms have small French balcony, which is nice. The amenities in the room are basic with CRT TV, Fridge, a cupboard and small toilet-bathroom. The apartment is fitted with split AC. I did not like the mattress. as it made squeaky sound. Free WiFi is available and ask reception for the password. Breakfast and lunch are good. I like the salad bar for the lunch together with choice of hot meals.

My recent visit to Sao Francisco do Sul allowed me to stay at two places - Hotel Kontiki and later at Hotel Zibamba. Though Zibamba scores over Kontiki in some aspects, Kontiki according to me is a better place to stay. But this is a review about Zibamba.... so here goes - Pros - Excellent infrastructure - Zibamba is a professionally run hotel - large number of rooms on 3 floors - the hotel occupies the complete street - so I suspect they are a few buildings which have been connected. Very clean, all rooms have air con, TV, wireless internet and a small balcony with a view of the street and the sea. Though the rooms are a bit small. Breakfast is a good spread - usual continental fare... breads, juices, fruits, cold cuts....exotic teas. Excellent location - In the middle of the Historic centro, the hotel is just next to the main throughfare of Rua Babitonga and the 200 yrs anniversary monument. A sit out on the top floor allows you to sit in the open foyer and watch the skies and seas ... hmmm... and dream... Cons - Sad poor service - everyone appears to be sad (Hey - who died?!). Very impersonal, and unlike Brazil. All in all, I think if the quality of service were improved, Zibamba may become competition for Kontiki and Solar da Beira. Else, they have a secure position at number 3 in Sao Francisco do Sul. (My ranking... has nothing to do with the truth - I hear there are some very good pousadas along the beach)
