“Excellent”

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. It is a little bit out of the centre of town but still walking distance and it was nice and quiet. The vibe is really relaxed and the breakfast was fantastic. We would recommend this place to anyone travelling to Paraty.

We only spent a short night with them on either side of a side trip to Mamangua, but we enjoyed our time. The grounds are immaculate. The pool looked amazing. We were sad we didn't have time to enjoy it. They helped us feed monkey's as soon as we arrived which was so entertaining! It is a short 20 minute walk to historic Paraty, along the water. We found it pleasant and not difficult as other reviews suggest, but it was perfect weather for us and not too hot. We thought it was worth it to save the money we would have spent staying within the historic center. An added bonus was the quiet atmosphere since it was removed from the busy tourist area. The staff were so great. We loved the couple who ran it and met their son who will be the next Neymar! Haha great personal touch to have contact with the same people each day and they remember who you are and what you plan on doing. Only 1 person on the staff spoke English, but that should keep you from staying here. The rooms were very clean, but lacked character you'd expect in paraty. However this was not a negative for us. It made the place very affordable and had properly fitted screens to keep the mosquitoes out which were complaints of staying in the more historic accommodations. It is a new establishment and reminds me of hotel chains in the US like best western or motel 6, except cleaner. The breakfast was good with a lot of variety. No eggs though...at least we were never offered any. Our only negative opinion of the place and reason for 4 stars as opposed to 5 was the room size. It was very small and cramped with 3 beds. Not much room to move around or put luggage. Also there was no safe which made us highly uncomfortable after coming from Rio.

We booked accommodation a little late, so there weren’t many options remaining close to the historic centre, besides this. Book as early as possible esp if you want to stay in the historic centre. We booked accommodation a little late, so there weren’t many options remaining close to the historic centre, besides this. Book as early as possible esp if you want to stay in the historic centre. Staff were lovely and very welcoming, even when we arrived much later at night following a very delayed transfer. The room was smaller than expected for 3 people, and felt cramped with 3 suitcases/3 hand luggage items etc. Clean room and good sized bathroom, however being where you are, expect bugs; teeny tiny ones crawling everywhere! There were only 2 plug sockets; one in the room and the other in the bathroom. The small fridge was unplugged and so, useless because it couldn’t be moved close to the one plug socket in the room. It would be nice to have a few hooks for hanging towels etc - there is a small towel rail, but this is inadequate for 3 towels. It also rained heavily one night and so there wasn’t anywhere to hang and dry waterproofs. I was surprised that there wasn’t a safe. The only option is to keep passports/extra cash/cards locked inside suitcases. The biggest negative overall was the room itself, albeit just about manageable for 3 nights. Breakfast was ok with a variety of cereals/bread/eggs/fruit. Pool area/common room was lovely and you can enjoy watching the cheeky monkeys and spot the beautiful birds. The 15-20 minute walk to the historic centre is enjoyable; walking along the canal and taking in the beautiful scenery.
