“Lovely place, would have liked to stay longer”

We had a superior room (907). A really nice room with great views. The bathroom was also very nice with floor heating. We had half-board and the food in the restaurant was really good (we had seafood for dinner). The reception staff made a mistake with our bill when we checked out so that we paid too much. We only discovered it later (we came back to the hotel the same day after an excursion) and pointed it out to them. They apologised – it got complicated making the right changes – but in the end they managed to correct the mistake and gave us the bottle of wine we had had for free. All the staff were very friendly and helpful – including the guides we had on our day hike to Base Las Torres in the national park. We spent only one night here but would very much have liked to stay longer.

“Beautiful Natural Setting”

This hotel is in a beautiful setting with views of the mountains from the bar and the dining room. The accommodations are joined together in several “blocks” of about ten each. This hotel is in a beautiful setting with views of the mountains from the bar and the dining room. The accommodations are joined together in several “blocks” of about ten each. I was on my own and found mine a bit small, mostly because there were very few surfaces to put things. I searched in vain for the thermostat and found that the heat is controlled by a knob in the radiator, which worked well. Although there was nothing within walking distance because it’s a resort setting, there’s a walking path that leads to the edge of the lake with a lot of interesting areas on the way. A couple of playful foxes showed up occasionally to entertain everyone. There is no gym or pool. Breakfasts and dinners were good although we had the same menu selections both nights we were there. I realize that tour companies like to use a simplified menu with a known price, but we had the same 3 appetizer and main dish choices both nights. They could add some more choices.

“Truly amazing location.”

The location itself makes this worth visiting - the views of surrounding peaks from the dining and bar area are stunning. Food was superb - amazing quality, and excellent service. Rooms were 'plasticky' cabins, and did not seem at all substantial - however, they were clean and had what we needed - … lisää

The location itself makes this worth visiting - the views of surrounding peaks from the dining and bar area are stunning. Food was superb - amazing quality, and excellent service. Rooms were 'plasticky' cabins, and did not seem at all substantial - however, they were clean and had what we needed - I understand that their more expensive rooms were much better. Be aware that their much-lauded four hour cruise on their own boat involves you driving to a car park, and a 20 minute walk to the boat - same on the way back.

“Upscale hotel for tour groups”

My wife and I stayed at the Lago Grey in Torres del Paine for 4 nights. We are travelling independently and chose the Lago Grey for its location, which is wonderful. The national park itself is superb. While the hotel is very nice, it is focused on reasonably large tour groups who come, stay for a night or two and move on. This made us feel a little like outsiders and as though we weren’t the focus of the hotel staff. I get this, but it is a very expensive hotel and we didn’t want to feel like that. The staff did absolutely nothing wrong, but it was a bit like inadvertently booking a hotel when entering else there was attending a special event.
