Selina was awesome. Super cool hostel, almost more of a hotel. They had an awesome co-working space for remote works, we didn't need it, but it definitely inspired me to look for a remote job when we got back. Room was clean, cool building with lots of services and a free walking tour, great location. My only complain would be that the free breakfast was pretty bad.

“BEST PLACE TO STAY IN CUENCA”

I've been in Cuenca around 10 times already and been to at least 8 different hotels and airbns, but Selina Cuenca is just perfect. The location of the hotel is the best, you are two steps away from cuenca old town, in front of the river, you cross the river through the multiple bridges and bam you are in the downtown cuenca. The hotel is beautiful, rooms, terrace, everything.

Overall, this was a really great, affordable, and centrally located hostel. However, there were a few downsides. To start with the pros, the location of this hostel is excellent. It is walking distance to the main Plaza De San Francisco, and on a centrally located Main Street. The location is very safe, and I never felt unsafe despite traveling solo. There are also many wonderful facilities, like yoga, breakfast, great wifi, a coworking space, and a masseuse that they can bring in. The wifi was fast and worked throughout the hostel without a hitch. The main con of this hostel is that it is extremely loud on the weekends. Expect to hear loud club music from around 9:30pm-4:00am on the weekends. Luckily I had noise cancelling headphones, but even with that it was difficult to sleep. So if you like partying and don’t mind club music with loud bass clearly in your room late at night, then staying here on the weekends might be for you. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this hotel only for weeknight stays, because it was difficult to sleep with the noise. The showers also didn’t seem to get hot water. Other than that, it’s a really nice hostel, and all of the pros outweighed the cons for me.

Attention in the front desk really good. The rooms were nice but not the best for the price. The carpet all around the building looks a bit dirty. Besides that the ceiling had some leak. But the most annoying thing is the personal that didn’t wear face mask (in COVID pandemic) even though they prep… lisää
