From the moment you start to drive up towards "Magic Mountain" you know you are in for something truly special. The hotel is situated overlooking a valley in prime position with views across to the "Los picos de Europa " once you park and make your way to the reception you get the feeling you are walking in history, walking in such charming surroundings so quaint and detailed. Cobbled paving stones with imense rustic country beauty. Buildings constructed with exquisite traditional detail. Not over the top luxury but far better welcoming sincere warmth where simple pleasures are done so beautifully you feel the tranquilty from every stone, plant and timbered beam. The breakfast is so fresh and tasty you can't stop but eat, eat, and eat. The dinners done so well as they send you the menu via WhatsApp so you can choose the option you desire of starter and main course (I loved this!) I could wait to recieve the whatsapp! The food is so fresh as the produce is grown and harvested from the land and area. You truly can taste the quality. I took the option for a fireplace in my bedroom. And it could not have been cosier. The bed was extremely comfortable and the morning views to wake up to are out of this world. Well what can I say about the staff. Each and everyone made me feel so incredibly comfortable they all possessed such humble and sincere proffesionilsm that is so very rare to find. If its views, tranquility, breathtaking nature, mouthwatering food and incredible staff and service your after then book this place now and rediscover yourself. I cant wait to return.

This is definitely the place to go at this time of year to get away from it all for a while. Gorgeous views of the surrounding area and the mountains in the distance, punctuated by the gentle sounds of birds and goats enjoying the fresh air. We stayed for 3 nights and in no particular order; - The room was quite simple but had a great bed (and mattress) which is what most travellers really want and shutters, for near black-out. - The en-suite was great, with an excellent 2-way shower. - Great lounge area with open fire, library and comfortable seating to relax in. - Breakfast was simple and fresh, with great coffee. At €6 per head however, it could do with a bit more variety. - 2 evening meals @ €15 per head were very pleasant, (meat + veg + salad + cheesecake/pudding affairs.) - House wine was outstanding. - Service and host were exemplary. You'll need some Spanish, so don't (quite rightly) expect to be understood just speaking English. You'll also need a hire car obviously and not be a nervous or first time driver. The place is up a mountain after all. We had a wonderful stay.

Best aspects: The scenery and location, by far. This is the selling point. The view to the mountains and valley below is awesome. We loved sitting out on our balcony with a tinto de verano or beer. Also, the staff was super nice, and I really liked Gustavo--very kind, personable, and informative ( Gustavo deserves a raise, just throwing that out there). We had a good enough stay, but I feel like this place could use some small improvements that would make a big difference. First: There's no A/C, but it does get a bit hot/stuffy in the room if you don't open the windows. However, there are no screens, so we couldn't open them up all the way to let in a lot of air. This was due to the bats...we had an attic room, and there were lights on underneath the windows. This attracted a lot of insects, and all of a sudden, you'd see a huge bat swoop right in to get some bugs, coming within inches of the window. Listen, I like bats, they are cool, but no one wants them in the room--us OR the bats. Window screens seem like an easy fix here. I can't tell you how many times I banged my head on the low ceiling beams or ran into the brick post in the middle of the room at night. But it was a lot. This is probably irrelevant if you don't have the attic room, though. I also admit I was terrified when we drove up to the hotel initially. It is located quite a bit up a winding, very narrow road that somehow has to fit two cars going both ways. Proceed with a lot of caution. By the end I was used to it and relaxed, but that first visit, holy moly, I was asking Dios for some help. Finally--I am not sure what was happening but on the Saturday night we stayed there we heard an all-night reggaeton dance party happening somewhere around us. We had the windows closed and a white-noise app on and still heard Bad Bunny until 4am.

“One of the best rural experience!”

We went to La Montaña Magica for our annual family reunion this year. And it was the best choice of accommodation ever that we are coming back next year. We went to La Montaña Magica for our annual family reunion this year. And it was the best choice of accommodation ever that we are coming back next year. The rural hotel is very well kept and mantained. I was very impressed the moment i set foot on it. The view is amazing. The area around are so green and you will be able to see sheeps, horses and asturcons. The room i had was on the 3 floor and it was facing the mountains. Everything was squeaky clean with clean white towels and white bedsheets. Comes with a jacuzzi and that’s a bonus because we love relaxing in the bubbles with a glass of red wine. In the mornings, we took a walk around the hotel as there were paths. Torimbia and Toranda beach are just 15 mins drive from there. There is a restaurant where we had our dinner and breakfast. The food was good and price is reasonable. I would say this rural hotel is perfect for families and also couples. We were 25 adults and 9 kids 😬 So i can imagined how patient the staff were with us. They were very nice and accommodating. We are coming back in winter for sure to enjoy the view of snow in the mountains.
