“Convenient”

Leon was under a confinement order due to coronavirus so my plans to spend a Camino rest day there were cancelled and I walked straight through and out to Virgen which was outside the city cordon. Leon was under a confinement order due to coronavirus so my plans to spend a Camino rest day there were cancelled and I walked straight through and out to Virgen which was outside the city cordon. The hotel is right on the main road which is also the Camino so easy to find. Nothing was quite normal because of coronavirus. The front door was not locked but reception was unattended. However, the receptionist came immediately in answer to a telephone call and was charming and helpful. She was very careful about hygiene wearing gloves and spraying sanitizer on the back door key and the room key card. My room was a fairly standard size but had a big balcony with table and chairs that was accessed through double doors. There were twin beds, desk and wardrobe. The bathroom was also a reasonable size with the shower over a tub which is always so much more spacious than many of the tiny shower cubicles. The room decoration was a bit startling with orange walls and blue floor which was not helped by the low power lighting. The wifi was not good at all, in fact it didn't work in the room or on the balcony. However, its worked fine in the reception area. There was a big lounge leading off reception but it was dark and seemed not to be in use. The restaurant was also closed. Both things were probably part of the coronavirus protocol. My room was at the back of the hotel and quiet. Friends who stayed elsewhere in the town said that rooms in the front of buildings were very noisy because of the main road. Overall, the VillaPaloma was okay for a night and it was very reasonably priced. I would stay there again although it isn't likely that I will pass through Virgen again anytime soon.

“Convenient ”

I stayed here as part of group of four walking a portion of the Camino. The hotel is on the Camino. The rooms were clean. There was no atmosphere in the bar and before eight there was no option for a breakfast. Not a major problem as there were other establishments close by

As others have said - this is a good location if you need a place to sleep along the Camino. Decent restaurants and good sized grocery store within easy walking distance. “Convenient Stop on the Camino”

This motel style unpretentious hotel is situated on the busy N-120 and directly on the Camino route in an interesting town with all the necessary services that is well worth the stop. This motel style unpretentious hotel is situated on the busy N-120 and directly on the Camino route in an interesting town with all the necessary services that is well worth the stop. Staff are friendly, pleasant and extremely helpful. There is a bar on the ground floor where you can get a coffee or beer. We arrived early and were checked in without any fuss and given a twin room on the second floor. The room was clean and comfortable with reasonable space, TV and desk. Bathroom also had room to move with a good shower. Even though the room faced onto the highway, noise was not an issue and we slept well. We had our evening pilgrim meal and breakfast at one of the local bars. Keyed access to the hotel in the evening was by the back entrance. Rate was €45.00 for the twin room.

“Nice room but far too hot”

Two of us spent a night here on the he Camino. The location is good and right on the Camino. The owner is friendly and the room looks good. It was clean and we liked the shower. Sleep was difficult though as the aircon was absolutely hopeless and we felt like the room was cooking us alive. There … lisää

Two of us spent a night here on the he Camino. The location is good and right on the Camino. The owner is friendly and the room looks good. It was clean and we liked the shower. Sleep was difficult though as the aircon was absolutely hopeless and we felt like the room was cooking us alive. There were also strange noises above us, like to here was renovation so k going on. I would stay here in cooler weather, but not during the summer again.
