“Rustic comfort in a lovely setting”

You will have read all of the five star reviews of the Hosteria and I have to say that they are all absolutely correct. It is set in the lovely Maragato village of Luyego, an enjoyable drive through the country to find and is itself an absolute gem of a place to stay. Each room is quite individual in character, decorated in a sumptuous and interesting style. Our room (Casiopaea) was very comfortable indeed and a delight to stay in. (You should be aware that this is a renovated old building so access to the roomes is by staircase only - there are no elevators.) The building as a whole is quite lovely and the service and friendliness of Ruben was exceptional. He spoke with us in Spanish, at our request, and was both very friendly and patient at all times, as well as being informative about the major towns and cities nearby. He also made a great gin and tonic! One area where we failed to do the hosteria justce was in its restaurant, which we never used as we don't generally eat a large dinner. Judging by the standards of the breakfasts that we had, it must be magnificent. These breakfasts were straightforward and relatively simple but cooked with such care and precision that they were truly a delight to eat. It is also really great value for money. Trust me, if you are holidaying in the area, this hosteria is the place to stay. We would love to return some day.

“Just what I needed”

I had come from Santiago de Compostela (just about a 4 hour drive) and was more tired than I liked to admit. I had come from Santiago de Compostela (just about a 4 hour drive) and was more tired than I liked to admit. In late August it's possible I was the only one staying in the beautiful hotel because I felt I was treated like a royal guest. The family who runs this splendid home away from home welcomed me warmly. The room was comfortable and so beautiful! Deep wood furniture, soft bed, comfortable decor. And not to mention the hotel is located in a sweet, tiny town off the beaten track. My meal in the dining room was fit for a queen- yes though cliche- that's how I felt. If you find yourself needing a well deserved rest, try this gem.

“Rustic Beauty in a Charming Location”

We drove through a series of charming villages to get to this beautifully rustic hotel away from it all. The small staff greeted us with a friendly familiarity though it was our first time there. During check-in we discovered we had left our passports in the safe of the last hotel.... in Portugal… lisää

We drove through a series of charming villages to get to this beautifully rustic hotel away from it all. The small staff greeted us with a friendly familiarity though it was our first time there. During check-in we discovered we had left our passports in the safe of the last hotel.... in Portugal 8 hours back. The staff member jumped on the phone and computer and immediately began to remedy the issue. We had plans to go enjoy El Capricho for dinner (which was really great too)and he made sure we had no worries on our mind. He arranged for the passports to be found in Portugal and sent to our NEXT location in FRANCE. Three different languages and only a few day window to get our passports caught up with us and it happened! THANK YOU SO MUCH Rusticae Hosteria Camino for such a memorable stay and taking the stress out of a potentially stressful situation.....would definitely stay again for the staff, the feel and the location!
