We asked a smartly dressed elderly lady for a recommendation for the best place to eat in Villena and she took us to Salvadora. The restaurant and tapas bar area are very smart but we were shown to a table in the equally rastefull restaurant.We were lucky to get a table as the restaurant was fairly full. We opted for the €19 gastronómica menu.The waiter said if we paíd a supplement of €3 that would include all drinks.It seemed too good an offer to refuse.It was as this included a pre drink a bottle of an excellent local Monastrell red wine and coffees. The menu includes 3 starters to share.These were some exceptionally good Serrano ham,delicious homemade mushroom croquettes and Calamari Romano. . There was only one choice of two mains.I had one of the best confit of ducks I have had for a flong time.The meat melted in the mouth and the skin was crisp and delicious.The accompanying carrot and mustard sauce tasted as good as it was stylish on the plate.The accompanying fondant potato was a delicious full stop to a perfect dish. My wife had the cod in a bean purée a subtle and enjoyable dish apparently. For desserts we shared fresh pineapple and one of my favourites a hot chocolate coulant. The service was excellent.Professional and friendly. The delicious smells from the delicious plates of foods coming from the kitchen prompted me to ask what some of them were and he explained that some were the speciality hot anchovy dish and the other the roast kid goat.Will give them a try next time we come. The whole bill came to only €44 which was incredible value for such quality well presented food. We will definitely be back.

“Ruta de la Lana”

A very comfortable and well priced Hostel for Perigrino. Smallish room with comfortable single bed. Perfect bathroom and toilet/ shower. Located up a side street behind tbe resturant from the main street. Excellent reception, quick checkin, friendly attitude.

“Lunch at Salvadora”

During our trip to Villena we had lunch at this Restaurant and we were surprised to find it was so good. We only had the menu but it was incredibly well prepared and the dishes were of a good size too !. It is the only restarurant we could find but we were glad to had the chance to eat there.

“Amazing choice of food”

Comfortable clean room with excellent wifi. Friendly staff and secure garage parking near by. Arrived on a Sunday where the bar and restaurant was packed with locals enjoying the food.
