From the moment that you turn off the N10, north of Paterson, you realise that you’re heading to somewhere a little different. If you follow Kuzuko directions to get to them, then this is the way you will travel. But what you don’t expect after travelling some 55km’s on dirt/gravel roads, is the level of attention to detail the Lodge provides. There is too much to write about in a review, because you would never read to the end. Simply put, the central lodge has all the amenities that you need, from the lovely comfortable cabins, to the superb food in the restaurant, the house keeping, the fencing team ( who you never really see, but have an enormous job on their hands), to the front of house and to the driver guides who take you out on 2x 3 hour game drives everyday, Kuzuko is truly “a place of glory” Upon arrival at the reception lodge, you are collected by one of the game drivers, who you are assigned to throughout your stay, so you have the chance to build up a rapport and a bit of a relationship with. Ours was Sim, who gave us the most amazing encounter with Sylvester and Feilies, the 2 male lions on a morning drive, words can never express our thanks enough to him ( We also wish we had his eyesight😉😉) In truth, 3 nights and days at The Kuzuko, is quite simply the most expensive experience that we have booked on a holiday, BUT, WHAT A PLACE, WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! We will never forget it, the staff, or our encounter with Sylvester! Apart from the 55km’s of dirt/gravel roads to get there ( which actually add to the feeling that you are so remote) the quality is fantastic, don’t deliberate, just book and go!! We are so pleased that we’ve been there, met the wildlife and all the staff that we had the pleasure of bumping into

My wife and I spent 3 wonderful nights here. From arrival to leaving nothing was too much trouble and the focus on ensuring guests had the best time was paramount. Our Guide for the stay was clled Gugu and he was fantastic at finding the animals on what is a massive reserve. He ensured that we saw everything possible, pointing out birdlife and flora as well as details about the animals. The lodge itself is superb, the food was excellent and the thoughtful touches such as warm cloths to refresh on the return from a drive was welcome, when we returned after sunset with the rain starting they had hot chocolate waiting for us. Thank you to Sam and his hospitality team for their care For people doing a touring holiday they have an invalauble laundry service that is very good value and collect the clothes whilst you are out on the morning drive and return them during your evening drive. The Spa is also excellent and a lovely place to relax during the day if the pool areas doesn't apeal. One thing to note though is they advise an SUV to get to Kuzuko and this is very good advice. The R400 leading to the lodge is unsurfaced, rutted and not great even in an SUV but it can be done taking your time ( add 40 mins to your GPS predicted time from Port Elizabeth). Kuzuko Lodge is thoroughly reccomended and we will return

“Amazing safari experience- 5*”

Amazing three nights here- staff, food and service are incredible! Could not recommend this enough. The lodges are beautiful. Gugu was our ranger and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. We saw all the animals up super close. Would absolutely recommend to anyone. Bring layers and binoculars for t… lisää

Amazing three nights here- staff, food and service are incredible! Could not recommend this enough. The lodges are beautiful. Gugu was our ranger and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. We saw all the animals up super close. Would absolutely recommend to anyone. Bring layers and binoculars for the safari drives. The drive here is quite bumpy on a dirt track- either get a transfer or make sure you have a 4x4 (drive in the light, not the dark).

“Third Visit”

Third Visit. It is just wow. Super experience with fantastic staff and the rooms are so spacious with wonderful views. Food is stunning and very well presented. Take a bow Kuzoko you are perfect
