This was our third stay at Umzolozolo, and I am happy to report it becomes more and more special every time. A huge highlight, as always, was Nols, our guide and now our dear friend. She is exceptional at what she does. Her depth of knowledge, instinct, and genuine passion for the wildlife and the reserve shine. She has a natural way of reading both the animals and her guests! She always creates moments that feel personal and memorable. Nols is warm and engaging, with a fantastic sense of humour, making every drive feel like an adventure shared. This trip, we also met James for the first time, and he was engaging and clearly valued guest experience, plus, albeit we are bias, he has excellent music taste! It was such a joy to see Henry, Ray, and the ladies again. Their warmth, attention to detail, and humour never go unnoticed, and it was something that particularly shone through during this trip. What truly sets Umzolozolo apart are the people. Every single member of the team brings thoughtfulness and positive energy. It creates an atmosphere that feels special and welcoming. The game drives were more that 5 star that's for sure. Seeing a brown hyena under red light, and using pulsar thermal technology, was a moment we will never forget. And beyond the wildlife, it was the shared experience with other wonderful guests, particularly two return visitors, that made this trip even more meaningful. We are already working out our next visit. Thank you to everyone at Umzolozolo for yet another unforgettable stay, saying goodbye gets harder and harder each time!

10 stars if I could!!! I couldn’t recommend this private game reserve lodge more. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful or kind, and nothing was ever too much trouble; Robert and Henry in particular were brilliant and made us feel incredibly well looked after. My family of eight stayed in the luxury suites, which had stunning balcony views, were spotless, and cleaned daily. What we loved most was how peaceful and private the lodge felt it genuinely felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The food was exceptional, and the service was seamless; we’d simply sit down and everything would be brought to us. The game reserve itself was unforgettable, with amazing encounters with elephants, lions, giraffes (including a surreal wine stop nearby), buffalo, rhinos, hippos, and cheetahs. Our guide, Nols, was outstanding clearly passionate, incredibly knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to track down whatever we wanted to see. If you’re planning a safari, I highly recommend requesting Nols and staying at Umzolozolo Private Safari Lodge we’ll definitely be back.

“Unforgettable”

Loved the new menu 😋 Bubbles for breakfast. Stunning valley views from our room which was beautifully decorated and dreamy comfortable king size bed. We chose to spend our 30 year anniversary weekend celebration at Umzolozolo Lodge, and it was the best decision we made. From the time we arrived and were greeted by the very vibrant and energetic Nols, to Raymond, Robert and the rest of the staff, we were made to feel like VIP guests. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, with views that take your breath away. The staff see to your every need, serving us refreshing drinks, and five star meals. Not to mention remembering all our names, which was quite exceptional. Nols, our guide, has this infectious personality, and is a wealth of knowledge regarding the reserve and most especially her knowledge of birds. But best you be alert when she's shouting out bird names and their characteristics. We loved every game drive we went on, as each drive was a unique experience. Thank you for the surprise romantic fireplace dinner on Friday night, which was a total surprise and an absolute treat. Marshall and I will definitely be back.
