“Beautiful modern and well appointed hotel in a country setting”

We found the hotel to be very clean, modern and bright. We found the hotel to be very clean, modern and bright. My only criticism is that it's a few kms from the city of Andong and in an area where we didn't see any nearby shops or restaurants (except at the hotel itself). The positives of this location are the glorious rural scenery from our (back) room and the tranquillity. There is an infrequent bus service in to Andong with a taxi costing around 7,000 won (~5 Euro, ~$6, ~£4). A taxi arrived in around 7 mins after being called by the hotel. We had a deluxe room which is actually a suite with separate lounge and bedroom and a small kitchenette hidden behind doors. Heaps of space in the lounge which has sofa, lounge and dining tables, a balcony with table and chairs and a great view. OK, as more usual than not in South Korea, the beds are on the hard side of “firm” but way more comfortable than a duvet on the floor, believe me! Having both a double and single bed in the bedroom left no space for a bedside table. Also no bedside lamps. Equipment included air conditioning, underfloor heating, cable TV, bar fridge, hair dryer, kettle for the hot plate (BYO tea/coffee or buy in the shop below), plates, cups etc. (Hint: If the hot plate doesn't go on, check the underneath cupboard to see if it's plugged in.) The bathroom was large and bright with a deep but smallish bath and separate shower. Breakfast for us was included. The "Jade" breakfast room is large and comfortable with an enormous selection of hot and cold foods. For those wanting a continental breakfast, the choice was less but more than adequate (see photos). There is also a small shop and café downstairs (Café Rosemary), which unfortunately had run out of cakes when we arrived late morning. The reception staff were extremely helpful and in fact booked our next intercity bus back to Seoul for us. Yes, most signs are in Korean or cryptic English but the staff spoke more than enough English for all our needs. Must say that I loved the sign near the lifts saying “Closing doors is delayed a few second for the transportation vulnerable to get on an elevator safely”. As this hotel was paid as part of a package, we have no idea what the agency actually paid. The official price for the deluxe room is 180,000 won (~135 Euro, ~$151, ~£104) and for a standard room 130,000 won (~98 Euro, ~$109, ~£76). This review was based on a one night stay.

“Nice modern hotel in the countryside”

Nice modern hotel in the countryside quite far from downtown but taxi is rather cheap, about § 6. Amazing view from the room. Breakfast is nice and the staff also very friendly. Air conditioning and free wifi

“Spacious and comfortable”

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, room was huge compared to other hotel rooms in Korea, nice bathrooms, great view from our balcony. Room stayed nice and cool unlike other experiences in Korea. Breakfast was very good, coffee was great. Hotel is quite far from downtown but only cost $6 USD by taxi. … lisää

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, room was huge compared to other hotel rooms in Korea, nice bathrooms, great view from our balcony. Room stayed nice and cool unlike other experiences in Korea. Breakfast was very good, coffee was great. Hotel is quite far from downtown but only cost $6 USD by taxi. There is a nice park/conservatory nearby and a golf course (if you can afford it!) The only downside is having to use my translation app to speak to the front desk personnel.

“Very nice hotel”

Our room was not very big, but clean, the bed hard as rock. Nice balcony with a view to the lake and hills around it. The bathroom was spacious enough, bathtub and shower. Breakfast was very average. Very helpful staff.
