What a beautiful place. A stunning building set in glorious countryside with gardens, fountains and ample car parking. We stayed one night to celebrate a birthday and the whole experience was so enjoyable. The food was excellent, the staff very attentive and friendly and our room was very well appointed. I thoroughly recommend this hotel, you would not be disappointed.

“Trying hard but not quite getting there”

We stayed here with the family on our way to a festival in Suffolk. The staff were really friendly and professional and the rooms were huge and well appointed. Unfortunately the hotel is just really tired - everything needs updating from the decor to the food, it felt like we were in a 1970’s time … lisää

“Disappointing”

Our room, the gardens and terrace, with fabulous afternoon tea, were the highlight of our overnight stay. Dinner however (the tasting menu), was sadly a real disappointment as it was one of the reasons for choosing Hintlesham Hall. Breakfast, like dinner, again was a disappointment! The location is great but overall, the building is tired and food lacklustre.

“Expensive menu”

For more than 12 years, my wife and I have enjoyed our visits to Hintlesham Hall. Our memories of the beauty of the building, quality of accommodation and food and especially the very friendly staff made us look forward to our recent visit. For more than 12 years, my wife and I have enjoyed our visits to Hintlesham Hall. Our memories of the beauty of the building, quality of accommodation and food and especially the very friendly staff made us look forward to our recent visit. However, not all our expectations were fulfilled this time. We had booked on a D, B&B basis which included a £40 allowance for dinner each evening. The restaurant was as pleasant as before. Breakfast was excellent each morning. However dinner was a major disappointment as the same menu was presented each night. Three of the six main courses exceeded the £40 allowance on their own and, of the remaining dishes, there were two vegetarian options showing sufficient saving for a pudding or starter with one other meat dish simply saving £2. Surely a dining allowance should provide at least sufficient funds for both a main course and either a starter or a pudding.
