“Great room, central location ”

We stayed in a suite (large room) for two nights. Our room overlooked the canal. The room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. It had a small fridge and kettle which we liked. We stayed in a suite (large room) for two nights. Our room overlooked the canal. The room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. It had a small fridge and kettle which we liked. We needed to leave a side window open and put on the small desk fan to get some air in the room. Parking was available (we needed to carry our bags from across the road). The hot water for the shower was good. Something about the room I didn’t like - perhaps more attention to cleaning, vacuuming - there was pieces of chocolate from the previous guest on my bedside table and hair, hair bands on the other side. Regarding breakfast- we had to book a time slot due to COVID restrictions; the eggs and bacon were stone cold. There was Plenty of bread, cheese, cold meat for two people. No fresh fruit or yoghurt. Check in staff were friendly and helpful. It’s an easy walk into the centre of town where you find some nice restaurants etc.

“Should be better...”

Sleep in a 100-year old warehouse, and dine in a 1000-year old castle! Souns like a fairy-tale? It did... Unfortunately 100-year old warehouses were never intended to be used to sleep in, and (old) Michelin stickers on the door don't mean too mch these days. Unfortunately 100-year old warehouses were never intended to be used to sleep in, and (old) Michelin stickers on the door don't mean too mch these days. Most people staying here are coupon-users (like us!) who expect the best for a special discount. And the few waiters (too little for a full house) seem to think they are serving in a Michelin restaurant, explainig each basic dish as if it was somthing else as an average supermarket dish, which all of our 3 nights there it was... 'T is a pitty...could have been so much better: sell the place to experts and let it shine! If you want to sleep here as well, do ask for the top floor: lower than that you will hete all people walking around as if on wooden shoes, and the water from all rooms running through yours...

“Suite???”

We stayed here for one night while walking the Pieterpad. We booked a culinary package that included a stay in a suite along with a three course dinner. The restaurant was lovely, and the food and wine were amazing. But, the room situation was questionable. The website indicates that the suites are… lisää

We stayed here for one night while walking the Pieterpad. We booked a culinary package that included a stay in a suite along with a three course dinner. The restaurant was lovely, and the food and wine were amazing. But, the room situation was questionable. The website indicates that the suites are located at the ends of the building (so would have better views). Our room (18) was in the center of the building, so I asked if it was a suite. The response was that yes, it was a suite, but was unfortunately, it was the only suite not at one of the ends of the building. I booked the package ten months in advance, and apparently got the worst suite in the hotel!! No apologies or changes were offered. I’m not sure it really was a suite, and certainly the hotel could have done better. The website should not say the suites are located on the ends if it is not always true.

“What’s that smell ”

Stayed here 1 night on business. Arrived late and had dinner in the hotel restaurant, it was average. The room was large but the layout is odd as the shower is open in the room with no doors and with curtains for privacy. The beds were lumpy. I guess it had old world charm but also old world smell.
