“Great Hotel, Bad Location”

The Valk Hotel Middelburg is beautiful and well-run. Restaurant has very nice options and breakfast is first-rate. Fitness facilities also very good. However, the hotel is at the end of a light industrial area - no where to walk. Would have given 5 stars if not for the location.

This is quite a luxurious hotel and I wish I had more time and prepared better to make use of the welfare facilities (pool, etc.). Rooms were large and luxurious. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but drove to Vlissingen (where most places were closed). Nice area near by - along the canals. Bit too far to walk into town. The breakfast was only OK and I would have expected better for hotel of this standard.

“Very good rooms, food and service”

The hotel rooms were of a high standard. The food and service in the restaurant was also of high quality. In addition, we enjoyed good service in the bar and terrace area. We stayed here for two nights, with two other couples, along with our e-bikes so we could spend each day on a different tour. … lisää

The hotel rooms were of a high standard. The food and service in the restaurant was also of high quality. In addition, we enjoyed good service in the bar and terrace area. We stayed here for two nights, with two other couples, along with our e-bikes so we could spend each day on a different tour. The bike shed in the car park worked very well and we enjoyed some excellent tours in the area.

This is a pleasant hotel. It is quite expensive, but they serve good quality food. The Wi-Fi is decent but could be better. The breakfast is very good and extensive, and the food on the dinner menu is good. But we were unlucky with the serving that evening. They forgot our teas, and sometimes, the wait was long. We also lacked some drinks at some point. Not what I am used to from Van der Valk. The gym, fitness, and swimming pool are very nice. We also enjoyed the wellness, which was very luxurious. The room is okay; it is a standard good van der Valk. Pillows were a bit high for us but it did not ruin our sleep. No Netflix or streaming app on the TV, but I brought my laptop and an HDMI cable so we could sort it that way. I would recommend the hotel, we had a black Friday deal and spend a gift card so it was affordable, but it is defiantly not cheap!
