This is not a 5 star hotel but for those who want a nice cosy place to relax in the countryside this is the perfect place. And the location is amazing: we feel like beeing in the middle of nowhere but we're actually close enough to the nearest villages. This is also the perfect place to get in touch with nature: whether you're sailing one of the kayak's in the lake (altough the material available is not in great shape), walking across the hills, enjoying birds singing as the sun goes down, or looking at the stars by night, the landscape is allways breathtaking. Besides, the staff is polite and the food is very nice, the rooms are cosy and have a semi-private terrace facing the pool and the lake, and there also a library, a bar and a gym available for guests. As you can see, although it is not perfect, there's a hand full of good reasons to visit Lameira's Hotel but it's most valuable quality is that 'what you see is what you get' so just give a glimpse to the web site and decide for yourself.

A quiet place for a summer or winter escape . Rural setting with a wide choice of breakfast - from homemade bread, pastries, cakes, cereals, fruit, coffee, tea, milk, etc.. A quiet place for a summer or winter escape . Rural setting with a wide choice of breakfast - from homemade bread, pastries, cakes, cereals, fruit, coffee, tea, milk, etc.. Spacious bedroom with bathroom with bath, with a bottle of water upon arrival (paid off!). The exterior is very nice with barn, horses, bicycles, nautical activities and a very nice dog! A few miles way, it is worth visiting Alter do Chão, Coudelaria de Alter, Crato.

This hotel is set in the middle of a large area of farmland, at the edge of a small lake, near which livestock graze. This hotel is set in the middle of a large area of farmland, at the edge of a small lake, near which livestock graze. In seems to be in the middle of nowhere, though the nearest town is only a few miles away. It has a homely feel; the decor is tasteful, simple and rustic, but clean. Our ground floor rooms had small terraces furnished with a small table. The pool is ample, with a separate area for children, and there are peddaloes and canoes on the lake. There are mountain bikes and tandems (though a little worse for wear) and stable with Lusitano horses. There was a superb (ex-army) instructor who went in daily to give lessons. We also loved our early morning cross-country runs round the lake. The food was traditional Alentejo fare; cooked superbly, followed by truly irresistible desserts. It was a quiet but truly relaxing holiday, which my two daughters (age 10 and 15) and husband also loved.
