A really great location for people who want to relax and stay away from the crowded streets of big town Surabaya or even easy Malang. The beautiiful villa is constructed around the swimming pool, with a view on the surrounding nature and river. Keywords of the personnel: ‘quiet’ and ‘easy going’. Kalibaru offers a marketplace where you can buy your daily food and drinks, and, if wanted, a set of locally fabricated pots and pans. After that, enjoy the swimming pool in Villa Kendi and the kind hospitality of mrs Janti, who will serve you the best of the local kitchen and makes you feel at home immediately. Take another swim in the pool, or take a dokar, the local transportstion vehicle, including kusir (driver) Suryadi and the young Faruk, who guides you through the ricefields and the small family driven sugarproduction plants. In short: Villa Kendi is a once in a life time experience!

Villa Kendi is very nice and quiet place just out of the center in Kalibaru. The hostess who is always willing to help and advise is very friendly. The rooms are spacious and very nice. “Peaceful ”

On our trip for several months this was a place where we could really relax. Big bungalow, nice swimming pool, good food and friendly staff, especially Yanti who runs the place! On our trip for several months this was a place where we could really relax. Big bungalow, nice swimming pool, good food and friendly staff, especially Yanti who runs the place! The complex: The complex is about 10 minutes by car from the train station. Once your enter the first building you feel at home. Tasteful interior, you see the pool in front of you and feel the relaxing atmosphere. Behind the pool is a larger building where breakfast and diner are served. From the veranda you can watch the garden and river. The Spa was under construction when we were there (10-2017) but would be finished within two weeks. Next to the pool is a fireplace where you can have a drink in the evening. The rooms: They have a few (family)rooms in the front building, a few next to the pool and a few in the garden with river view. All rooms looked very nice. The room we had (next to the pool) was spacious and had a large bathroom, good big bed and good air conditioning. The food: For breakfast you can tell what you want and they will make it for you, we had f.i. delicious banana pancakes. For lunch and diner they have a menu with different types of food. Everything we tried was good. The staff: Everyone was very helpful. Yanti, who runs the place, is very sweet and can give you advice about things to do. We stayed here for four days doing absolutely nothing but hanging around the pool and we liked it :)

“Lovely Place”

Lovely place with beautifully arranged rooms as well as outdoor pool and garden area, very clean, tasty good food and outstanding personell! We stayed two nights on our way from to Bali and would have loved to stay longer. Very recommendable!!!
