“Clean, Affordable Room at Medan's Historical Old Town Area”

I stayed for 3 nights, in the cheapest room of the hotel. Booked from Booking.com for non-smoking room, and got a smoking room on the smoking floor instead. I stayed for 3 nights, in the cheapest room of the hotel. Booked from Booking.com for non-smoking room, and got a smoking room on the smoking floor instead. The staff said that my reserved room IS a smoking room. I objected, but there were nothing they can do about that, unless I upgrade my room by adding some 200 thousands IDR, to get a non-smoking room. I gave up, I accepted the smoking room, since they guarantted that it is clean, no cigarette smell, etc. The room is located at the 6th floor. Only 1 unit elevator available, and served only until the 5th floor. Too bad for me: I can only use the elevator until the 5th floor, then I have to take stairs to go to the sixth floor. Not convenient at all. It felt so bad - being a second class guest/ being in the cheapest section of the hotel - where other guests can access the room by elevator and me: dragging my luggage using stairs from the fifth to the sixth floor. Fortunately, I found the room very comfortable and clean! It is small, but I really do not mind, since I just needed a room to sleep and shower, so no problem. The bed is comfy, the room is very clean, the aircon worked well and the hot shower is just what ai needed! My room faces the back street, so no traffic sound was heard. I got a good night sleep there. Here's my summary: Location: great location, right in the middle of Kesawan area, where old xolonial buildings are. Many street foods around that area, withing 10 mins walk. Staff: just okay; Room: comfortable to sleep and shower. Room access: bad. I have to use stairs to sixth floor, after the elevator took me until 5th floor. Breakfast: i did not have breakfast in the hotel, I preferred to have my breakfasts at the street food in the area Overall: it is a good, clean hotel located at one if Medan's best locations. RECOMMENDED.

“Nice.place if.you don't mind the noisy surrounding”

Uncomfy sleep. Noisy surrounding. ” Rooms were on the 6th floor. Lift is only till 5th flr. Have to climb steep stairs to 6th floor with luggage. Breakfast is very basic and minimal. More local delights. Toast is provided but have to pay if want eggs. No fresh/liquid milk for coffee. Only milk powd… lisää

Pillows in room are covered in plastic and pillow case, which made pillow very uncomfortable. Nights are very noisy from street outside.

Medan , Sumatra is a hugh n busy city, lots of 3,4,5 star hotels. If you are on budget or just 1 or 2 days stay , then Hotel Kama is highly recommended. Medan , Sumatra is a hugh n busy city, lots of 3,4,5 star hotels. If you are on budget or just 1 or 2 days stay , then Hotel Kama is highly recommended. At about usd22 per night for a double room with breakfast is value for money. In city centre, lots of restaurants around, nearby shopping area. Transport is easy & cheap in Medan . You can opt for a motorcycle ride or trishaw . Or book a taxi via Grab / Maxim. Room is comfy , staff is efficient, breakfast nice.

“Average, comfortable hotel near Tjong A Fie Mansion”

We were in Medan just for a couple of nights and the Kama hotel suited our budget. Since Medan is a city full of hotels and there's always something to suit everyone's budget, I feel some of the poor reviews on Kama Hotel was unjustified. We were in Medan just for a couple of nights and the Kama hotel suited our budget. Since Medan is a city full of hotels and there's always something to suit everyone's budget, I feel some of the poor reviews on Kama Hotel was unjustified. The room was clean... felt secure... beds were comfortable... bathroom clean and modern. The buffet breakfast was included in the price and it was nothing flash but pretty good for a budget hotel. Will definitely book again if we visit Medan again!

We booked a family room & the room is quite spacious with 4 beds inside. The hotel is centrally located in the middle of the city. However, I think the breakfast is a bit expensive. Actually, the breakfast is for 4 persons & we have another 2 kids. It's okay to charge us 2 more pax of kids meal for breakfast, but I think it's quite pricey and it's not a price for kids meal.
