It’s a very good resort nestled on the Ashtamudi lake. Studio room we got was on 2nd floor with beautiful lake view. Rooms were nice, clean and big. It’s a very good resort nestled on the Ashtamudi lake. Studio room we got was on 2nd floor with beautiful lake view. Rooms were nice, clean and big. Regarding food at the resort, all credit goes to Chef Suresh. He listened to us, arranged excellent food. Kudos to him. Rest nothing went well. Pool was murky and no cleaning was carried out despite complaints. No pool towels, no refreshments at the pool side. It seemed as if Club Mahindra forgot that they have a pool too. We booked a tour for Varkala from activity centre. We got a dirty car with defective AC and a grumpy driver. We got 50% discount on complaining though. We paid for 1h 15m massage in the swaastha spa which got wrapped up in 45 mins! I was out in an hour after steam and shower and felt cheated. Overall experience: property is excellent, food is excellent and everything else is left on the god!

Excellent place and ambience for unwinding.. book the Lake facing rooms and 1 day on the Lake top cottage..Family indoor games good..take the e-bike ride too. SITE SEEING:1. Not much by way of beachedsif you are coming from Trivandrum beaches..Prefer do Jatayu Earth centre en route to/from trivand… lisää

Not much by way of beachedsif you are coming from Trivandrum beaches..Prefer do Jatayu Earth centre en route to/from trivandrum rather than plan exclusively from CM as roads are under repair. 2. Take the morning boat ride to NEIL island -book in advance.its nice. But dont hv expectation from Neil Island-its just a small pad for switching boats. FOOD: Top notch. Quite expensive but if you are a family of 3 or 4 it is not a burden as the serveing size is good. Go for the a la carte rather than buffet. If you are member u get a considerable discount They allow you to get outside deivered online and collect it at the resort gate.Nothing much nearby the resort AMNETIEs: Good. The staff is also polite. There is a golf cart to ferry you within the resort but wait time is high. There is a good souvenir shop and swimming pool apart from SPA CONS:a) SPA is a RIP off. b) Hailing a cab from resort is next to impossible as the local Taxi Union has a monopoly bordering to Mafia.. and the Resort is helpless...rather, they have become a part of it. You will have to shell out 1.5 times normal. c) If you are a guest they will (over) insist on joining the club membership

Post paying for your membership you need to pay an annual maintenance charge of 20,500 , which roughly works out to 3000 for each day you book at the hotel. And after paying 3000 a day as mantainance charges we received a room where the drain wasnt working. On the first day we complained they said they will look into it, but till the last day it stayed the way it was. We asked them for cutlery they left 4 knifes to eat our food. And this is after repeated request for cutlery. If you visit the restaurant for breakfast they make you wait for awhile and then convince you to take the buffet package at a lower price instead of ordering fresh food at the restaurant. The day we were checking out we waited for an hour for the cart to pick up our luggage, the cart never turned up, I had to drive my car on the buggy track blocking all buggies to take my luggage out. And most buggies were just staff moving around. Not once did we get a buggy when we requested for one. The only time the buggy is efficient is when you check in and when non members book the buggy. Its a lovely property to stay at minus the staff and food. My advice would be to stay there order food online, book your boat rides outside at 30% of the cost of what the club charges. If you can, get a room nearest to the car park.
