We, a family of 4, occupying 2 queen’s rooms had a comfortable stay at this heritage property. Being from Mumbai, our cold endurance level is too low but they were kind enough to provide additional heaters in both rooms. Shillong being an outdoor destination, we could not explore the property much during our 3 night stay. Summing up our stay: Location - Tranquil. Away from city hustle bustle. Traffics can be annoying in Shillong but that is the truth of every urban city in India. Hospitality - warm and excellent Rooms - Spacious, clean, comfortable with all in room amenities House keeping - prompt Overall staff - Benevolent and well trained Food - Vegetarian North Indian at glass house restaurant was tasty. Breakfast variety and taste good. Chinese at mini restaurant inside heritage wing avoidable. Overall, a pleasant stay for those who do not want a typical hotel stay but can’t compromise on the luxury and amenities.

Warm, attentive. mindful. lovely service. To the crew there and especially to the beautiful female "Chef" on duty (former Flight Attendant at Emirates) we send our warmest regards. “Felt like Maharaj & Maharani”

Allotted Deluxe rooms towards maharaja's villa are out of network and wifi (308 & 309), the management didn't help us to change our rooms but as we booked the room through Make my trip, so they helped us. Allotted Deluxe rooms towards maharaja's villa are out of network and wifi (308 & 309), the management didn't help us to change our rooms but as we booked the room through Make my trip, so they helped us. The front office people don't know how to greet their guests, they will keep sitting on their Chairs and deal with you during your Check in n Check out ( No stand up atticate) 2 stars for them. Breakfast was tasty, complementary for everyone and I rated it 5 stars. Housekeeping staff are too professional in cleaning rooms and super fast in their work, 5 stars for them. Securities are helpful, 4 stars for them. Beautiful bar & restaurant.

This hotel is touted to be in a quiet, serene location away from the Shillong hubbub. It is not! It is very much in Shillong amidst all the chaos and traffic jams and bad roads. This hotel is touted to be in a quiet, serene location away from the Shillong hubbub. It is not! It is very much in Shillong amidst all the chaos and traffic jams and bad roads. I had booked for 4 nights and after the first day when I ventured to go to Cheerapunji and turned back midway due to horrendous roads, I stayed put in the hotel for the next 3 days. Just did not have the appetite for the terrible traffic and filth and roads. The room was fine except for the bathroom which had inferior quality plumbing making it impossible to use the shower mixer with a very low water pressure. Shillong was cooler than I had expected and I had to ask for 2 heaters and even then the room and the bathroom were chilly. There is basically just one dining menu offered in 3 different locations and is focused more on Chinese. The breakfast was the typical Indian spread with a number of daily change options. Staff throughout the hotel wre very polite and courteous. Lastly, please note that the entire property is built on a hilly lot with multiple levels and one has to negotiate numerous inclines and steps to get from anywhere to anywhere. If you are hard of mobility, it will be a major problem.
