Out of this world service and hospitality. Beautiful architecture high up on the hill. Lovely rooms with sunset views. They took us in a fascinating tour through the village and countryside and a row in the lake at sunset. Amazing wildlife and superb advice. We did not want to leave!

Imagine you have been invited to a beautiful country estate in a wonderful setting. All the staff and a first rate chef are present, vehicles are available, but the host has been called away but leaves the message everything is at your disposal. This is Ramathra! It is VERY beautiful. The night safari a great experience. We spent 4 nights. We took walks, asked for a jeep to bring us up the hill, they were always there. Ask the chef to prepare your favourite dish he's happy to oblige. And the jacuzzi, WHAT A VIEW. The team at Ramathra takes some beating. Thank you!

Ramathra Fort, in terms of luxury, was truly unbeatable, and the guide was the best of the entire trip. I had the luxury of spending every safari with him alone. He showed me sambar deer, chinkara, nilgai, wolves, sloth bears, vultures, jungle cats, rusty-spotted cats, Bengal foxes, wild boars, golden jackals, and, of course, my beloved striped hyenas. The highlight was the first night safari, where we encountered a striped hyena on foot at only about 7–8 meters and watched it feed undisturbed for a good 5–10 minutes. The evening safaris are the absolute highlight. In the mornings, we saw fewer animals, but we went on walks/hikes of about 1–1.5 hours to temples, along riverbeds, with amazing kingfisher sightings. On one occasion, we even found a striped hyena in its den. What was so impressive about the guide was that he would ask me, ‘Do you want to see species X?’ And every single time, we saw that species. He knew exactly when and where to look for the various animals. Once it rained, and we were welcomed under the roof of a family of about 12. Since Ramathra Fort employs people only from the surrounding villages, the locals are extremely warm and welcoming to tourists. I have probably never been greeted so kindly. I was allowed to sit on their bed and was served chai with milk, even though they had very little themselves. I then looked at photos with the children, and it was so much fun trying to teach them a little English while they tried to teach me Hindi. The owner regularly checked in with my guide to see if I was doing well as I was travelling as a woman by myself. This care was truly heartfelt. I met incredibly kind and friendly people. When a little rain got into my tent at Ramathra Fort, they even offered me a free upgrade to one of their rooms. Ramathra comes highly recommended, not only for wildlife, but also for pure relaxation—such as a peaceful boat ride. Truly a hidden gem for sure not my last trip to Ramathra

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Ramathra Fort. The location is stunning—it sits high on a hill with a beautiful view of the lake and the countryside. It is the perfect place if you want peace and quiet away from the city. The Luxury Tent ⛺️ are very spacious and comfortable. They have a great old-world charm but still feel luxurious. The highlight for us was the wildlife! During our night safari we were lucky enough to spot a hyena, fox, jackal, and wild boar. The night jungle safari was amazing and very exciting. We also enjoyed the peaceful boating on the lake, the village walk, and the delicious homemade food. If you are looking for a unique heritage experience, this is the place to be!"
