“Watersedge hotel is just beautiful”

We have just come home from a 3 night stay . The hotel and staff are fantastic. Very nice rooms and spotless clean . The location is amazing over looking the harbour . Definitely be returning there .

The WatersEdge is a very small hotel in Cobh and is situated on the waterfront. It’s a three minute walk to the train station. The WatersEdge is a very small hotel in Cobh and is situated on the waterfront. It’s a three minute walk to the train station. There are a ton of pubs, restaurants and the Cobh Prom is all right there. Our room had views of the harbor and Spike Island, and the town. There is a in-house restaurant, called Jacobs Ladder which is very good. The restaurant also serves as the breakfast room in the morning. I have been told, by locals to Cobh, that when the cruise ships are in, they obstruct the view, and it can be extremely busy. There was no cruise ship in and our stay was in November, so well after peak tourist season. Our room was comfortable and clean. It was well equipped and the bed was nice. Even though one of our windows faced the street, there was no issue with noise. I want to give a special shout out to one of the employees there. I’m so sorry that I can’t recall your name but you were amazing. This particular staff member was everywhere. She checked us in, she helped clean rooms, worked in the dining room and I never saw her without a smile and hello. I cannot comment on parking as my wife and I didn’t have a car this trip, but having the train station right there was super nice. We did ask about laundry service and they no longer offer it, so we had to use the laundrette about a ten minute walk down the Prom. That was not really an issue. I would recommend staying here.

“Great Dinner Experience”

Did not stay at the hotel, but had a great dinner. Feathered beef and sausage and champ were delicious. Also a great view of the harbor.

This is an amazing venue. For me, the actual waters edge was everything. It felt so great to be so near the water and the busy harbour thoroughfare. This is an amazing venue. For me, the actual waters edge was everything. It felt so great to be so near the water and the busy harbour thoroughfare. The hotel is located in the town of Cobh, which is a phenomenal town. A real gem of a place. This was our second experience here. We just wanted to explore the great surroundings and relive our former experience. Most of the staff were brilliant. There were exceptions though. However, Sorcha and Meg shone as ambassadors and were generally just really kind people. Kindness makes such a difference when you are on a break. There were also one or two negative experiences. Let's just say that as a patron and a visitor I really object to being patronised. I object to being spoken to in a sing song voice and I have a visceral objection to the impersonal when it comes to hospitality. My room number at breakfast should have felt like less like an interrogation. Also, the general acknowledgement of respect to us as residents shown by some members of staff seemed lacking. This counts. This remains. Overall, the staff were brilliant. I salute them. I would also like to thank David for his kindness and conviviality. And the sun came out. All of this in beautiful Cork. And beautiful Cobh.
