I was very happy with my stay ,the room was beautifully decorated and the en-suite was finished to a very high standard, I slept great and had an invigorating hot shower to start the day . I requested an iron and board ,it was delivered within minutes. The breakfast was delicious and the staff throughout the whole hotel were so friendly. I definitely will be back.

I was apprehensive regarding our stay due to some negative reviews on Trip Advisor. Very pleasantly surprised. Spotless, recently renovated rooms. Good choice of menu (on a Sunday night), well cooked and presented. Delightful staff, friendly and helpful, professional standard from an Irish and International team. Particular mentions to Sheila (Breakfast), Ricardo (Bar/Food) , Siobhan (Accommodation Manager) and her lovely assistants on the 1st Floor and the excellent Reservations Team. Room 28 (single and double twin) was very quite, spotlessly clean and well furnished. Room 42 was front facing (very spacious double), likewise spotlessly clean. Extra requirements for the rooms were in place on check-in. We had breakfast at 9.00 am, where there was a good choice of Continental and cooked breakfasts. There is a lift, but corridors are narrow (due to the historical nature of the building). Very central location. Excellent value.

“Hibernian is nice enough”

I had a nice enough stay at the Hibernian. Whether the positives outweigh the negatives I am not sure. As a business traveller a good nights sleep is paramount. And this hotel has poor noise control. I had a nice enough stay at the Hibernian. Whether the positives outweigh the negatives I am not sure. As a business traveller a good nights sleep is paramount. And this hotel has poor noise control. I could hear every step taken from the floor above in the form of creaking, and from the corridor outside. But luckily for me the other guests went to bed by 12 am and made no deliberate noise. So I got some sleep. The rooms and bathroom are nice. Very comfortable bed and room was very clean. But you will need to turn a blind eye to the peeling paint on the doorframes and the aging state of the main walkways. Nice bar, nice food and nice staff. Overall i think that the hotel has its market. For business I am not sure, but then it does have a good location and I have experienced much worse at a much higher price point. Overall it is fine, which for business travellers means fairly good but maybe not for you if you are used to a higher hotel class.
