“Excellent modern hotel in the middle of town”

Hotel is spotlessly clean, modern, well equipped and has a great buzz of activity about it. Our room was excellent, with all the usual facilities. Hotel is spotlessly clean, modern, well equipped and has a great buzz of activity about it. Our room was excellent, with all the usual facilities. The hotel juggles the needs of conferences, smaller family functions, 'normal' guests and locals just dropping in really well. Food in the Charter Bar was no better than average, with a slightly dated menu. Breakfast was really good, with hot food cooked to order, and with high quality ingredients. I detest buffet breakfasts, because nothing is ever hot, so having it cooked for me really made my day.

“Dine & Dream package”

Dine & Dream food menu package was limited. Wasn’t initially told we’d be eating off a different menu and could have ended up paying a greater bill only for us enquiring. Didn’t like having to order all 3courses at once as after mains I was fairly full and would have chosen a lighter dessert. Saw o… lisää

Dine & Dream food menu package was limited. Wasn’t initially told we’d be eating off a different menu and could have ended up paying a greater bill only for us enquiring. Didn’t like having to order all 3courses at once as after mains I was fairly full and would have chosen a lighter dessert. Saw our drinks on bar and waited 5-10 mins before enquiring where they ours, which they were. Bedroom was grand. Bed a little too soft for hubby and I found pillows too firm. There also was a strong smell of a drain coming from bathroom sink in room 230 very noticeable while washing teeth.

“Staff let this hotel down badly”

The staff really lets the hotel down. With the exception of the housekeeping staff I met, the staff is at best passable and at worst downright rude. The staff really lets the hotel down. With the exception of the housekeeping staff I met, the staff is at best passable and at worst downright rude. I waited fifteen minutes to be served at the bar on a busy Saturday night and when I asked the server would he serve me next he muttered something under his breath that he wasn't prepared to repeat when I asked him to. The bar staff make absolutely no eye contact with the customers and don't appear to have any system to ensure that customers aren't left waiting for ages before being served. The reception staff are mostly disinterested in helping the guests and the maitre d' in Kellys Steakhouse across the road has no manners at all. With the exception of one lovely girl, the waiting staff are also just going through the motions. All this being said the hotel is very nice, comfortable and clean. Spend a bit of money on training your staff or employ people who suit the hospitality industry, the clue is in the word!
