We got married in October 2025, and from the moment we arrived, the autumnal ambiance and atmosphere were absolutely amazing. The setting was warm, picturesque, and full of charm—exactly what we had hoped for. We had viewed so many venues before making our decision, but the Woodlands stood out by a mile. It has such a genuine, family-run feel that immediately put us at ease, and the unique personal touches made all the difference—like having our photo printed on the menu, which was such a special and memorable detail for us and our guests. A huge shout-out to David, the wedding coordinator, who was simply incredible throughout the entire process. He was so attentive, nothing was ever an issue, and he made everything feel effortless. On top of that, he was great craic, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable and relaxed. The babysitters and kids’ club were also fantastic across the weekend. It made such a difference knowing the children were so well looked after and having the freedom for everyone to fully enjoy the celebrations. The Woodlands is somewhere we will continue to visit every year with our kids, and it will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Eimear & Steven

“Good stay with a some disappointment”

We enjoyed our stay overall and particularly appreciated the friendliness of the owners and some of the staff. We have been visiting the Woodlands for many years, and our children have always loved the experience, which is why we continue to return. We stayed in a lovely room; however, our enjoyment was affected by noise from the adjoining room. We were in Room 419, and the connecting door meant that sound travelled easily between rooms, resulting in a poor night’s sleep. I suspect this may have been raised by other guests in the past, and it may be worth reviewing. Breakfast was excellent — the food was of a very high standard and thoroughly enjoyed. Well done to the team. We dined in the restaurant on both nights, and unfortunately, our experience at Timmy Mac’s was disappointing. My wife ordered a burger, which had to be returned on three occasions, which is very unlike her, as she is not a fussy eater. We both felt that we would not choose to dine there again on a future stay unless improvements are made. Also, we wanted to have coffee in the reception area on one of the days, although a lot of staff walked past, no one asked or seemed interested in taking our order. I appreciate that we could have gone to the Treehouse, but due to the rain, this was not an option. After taking a few years’ break from staying in the Woodlands, we were glad to return, as it has always been a place we come back to. As someone who works in public-facing services, I would gently suggest that a simple welcome-back greeting or smile from reception staff can make a big difference, particularly for long-standing and repeat guests. One staff member at reception, who has been there for many years, is efficient, but a warmer approach would really enhance the experience for loyal visitors. We share this feedback in the spirit of continued loyalty and hope it is helpful for future improvements.

Renovations were underway and we weren’t aware of this. Difficulty locating our bedroom- poor signage. Whilst eating my porridge the omelette arrived. Served on a cold plate. Of course it was cold by the time I was ready for it. Avocado was poisoned with lime. Perhaps an inexperienced cook was working that day! The previous day, we attended a wedding at this venue and the food was delicious and hot and served by professionals. Good Friday, was not so good 😔
