We loved our stay here. Linda looked after us and everything was sorted before we arrived! Food was delicious, service was fantastic.. everyone was lovely to deal with. We’re looking forward to visiting again 💕

“Some serious room for improvement”

We booked a one night stay in a standard room including dinner and paid extra for the use of the thermal spa. We booked a one night stay in a standard room including dinner and paid extra for the use of the thermal spa. Check in was fine and in fairness the reception staff did all they could to get our room ready early as we were booked into the spa for 3.30pm. The room was fine although the main door handle could do with some maintenance. We really enjoyed the thermal area, it was very relaxing and wasn't overcrowded with the infinity pool being the highlight. The gents changing area is very small. The evening meal consisted of 3 courses. After eating our starters the waitress returned to our table a few times to apologise for the delay with our main courses. This she said was due to the kitchen being understaffed. We were in no particular hurry so we didn't mind. When our food did eventually come out half of it was cold and it was served on cold plates. At the end of the meal the waitress asked if everything was ok. We told her about the cold food and she couldn't apologise enough. She offered us two drinks on the house to make up for it. We were so disappointed as we had heard so many good reviews about the food and this was going to be the highlight of our stay. When we were checking in for breakfast with a very pleasant lady our conversation was rudely interrupted by a blonde lady who I assume was a supervisor . She barked orders at the lady attending us instead of waiting for us to finish our conversation, very unprofessional. Sadly breakfast the next morning wasn't much better. The bacon I got with my full Irish were so thin and hard I couldn't eat them, I would have expected a better quality rasher in a hotel of this standard. Mushrooms had so much salt on them they were inedible. Overall we left Bellinter House a little disappointed. The staff were lovely, the hotel is lovely but the food was a major let down. Some serious room for improvement.
