This is our second stay at 201 Hotel, both short visits to attend football matches. The staff in the hotel are all friendly, and particular mention to Aniya who was so helpful to me and my daughter in terms of booking taxis and recommendations of things to do, not football related. The hotel breakfast is continental style, croissants, breads, cereals, juice, ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs. It has all that you need in a buffet style. The beds in room were comfortable and the heating was easily controlled (needed in December). The lobby is a lovely place to chill out. Good Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The location is in the Kopavogur suburb of Reykyavik, so if you don’t have your own transport, it will be expensive to go to/from via taxi. There is a large shopping centre nearby, within 5 minute walk, Smaralind, with plenty of shops and a great food court. There are also a number of restaurants in the neighbourhood of the hotel. We found the hotel nice and relaxing once again. Thank you Aniya.

“Decent”

My husband and I booked this hotel for our trip to Iceland. The hotel was only 10-15 minutes from downtown Reykjavik and easily accessible to the highway. My husband and I booked this hotel for our trip to Iceland. The hotel was only 10-15 minutes from downtown Reykjavik and easily accessible to the highway. There was breakfast served everyday but the food was the same (a meat, cheese, hard boiled eggs and some sort of veggie). Also had a coffee machine and hot tea available (only during breakfast hours) and juices and yogurt bar. While having breakfast was nice - the area was very crowded and very repetitive. The hotel room was average - does not have AC but had heat. The room window opens at the top for some cool air to come in. There is no fridge or coffee maker in the room; however, you get a kettle to make hot water. I would stay here again but would say it’s a very average hotel.

Pro: Friendly welcoming staff Bedside tables on both sides Power socket on both sides of the bed Shower was good Bed comfortable Reasonably priced £140 B&B for the night Kettle in the room Plenty of parking Only 10-15min from Reykjavik centre or Zone 3 Parking. Cons: Breakfast was average no bacon/ sausages and the porridge was salted! Toaster was very lack luster. No USB socket available in the room. 2x single duvets on double bed - seems to be standard in Iceland Room decor was a bit tired No brew kit to go with kettle - luckily we brought travel mugs, tea bags and bought some cartons of milk from the supermarket. Borrowed wooden stirrer from breakfast buffet. Constant creaking/ dripping noises Limited food option within walking distance of the hotel and none were highly rated enough to ve worth trying.

“Spacious room, nice breakfast but very noisy”

The room was clean and spacious, reception were friendly on arrival and the complimentary breakfast was nice and plentiful. The room was clean and spacious, reception were friendly on arrival and the complimentary breakfast was nice and plentiful. Unfortunately, this was let down by a few issues: my daughter was on a sofa-bed which squeaked every time she moved, there was constant noise from other rooms and this was exacerbated by a coach load of school kids checking out at 3.45-4.15 in the morning like a herd of bulls in a china shop. If you’re looking for a peaceful nights sleep I wouldn’t recommend 201 Hotel.
