“Gorgeous views”

Booked very last minute and had a nice relaxing night at the Buckley. The sea view from my room was beautiful and I had an excellent nights sleep. Only spoke to two staff members, a lady on reception who was very helpful as was the lady who served breakfast, couldn’t do enough for me.

We were stuck in Wales due to ferry cancellations and disruption which prevented our return to Ireland. However we were lucky enough to manage to book into the Bulkeley and stayed for three nights 14th to 16th November. From the minute we checked in we felt at home. All the staff we encountered, reception, bar, restaurant and housekeeping were friendly and made us feel welcome. The breakfast was faultless with a wide selection of cold offerings as well as everything you could want in the hot department. The choice at dinner was good with, in my opinion, something to suit every taste. The rooms were in good order beds comfortable and we got an excellent night's sleep. We will certainly stay at the hotel again without hesitation.

“Great overnight stay”

Lovely stay in a very nice hotel, excellent staff and location. Breakfast fantastic! Hotel is very traditional and has an old world charm

“Tired hotel stuck in the 70's in so many ways”

Great location, right on the seafront in Beaumaris. The room was clean and everything worked, and there was a decently stocked tray of coffee, tea, water and a couple of packets of biscuits. This is a hotel stuck in the dim and distant past. The 3* AA sign still hangs proudly outside the street-side entrance. The Reception is a mess in every way imaginable: disorganised, not particularly helpful, and definitely not a smile in sight. We arrived early and asked if we could leave our luggage, but were told that they had nowhere to store it apart from next to the Christmas tree they were in the process of putting up. There are knick-knacks everywhere in display cases, which I think you could purchase. If I am being kind, you might call them antiques, but really, it was a load of old toot. The rooms are old, basic, but to be fair, clean, and the bed was comfortable. Had a great night's sleep! Breakfast is a throwback to the 70's - there was a cold option and a warm option (they called it a hot option, but it wasn't, it was tepid at best). The coffee was surprisingly nice, not the usual watered-down dishwater that a lot of places pass off as coffee. We were talking to one of the barmen about the menu, and he raved about the lamb burger. It was before dinner, but we set our minds on it as our preferred option, seeing as he was so enthusiastic about it. When it came to ordering later, however, it was no longer on the menu! We pointed out that it was on the menu in the lift (another nice 1970s touch) and he quickly rushed off to go and change it. There are probably better places to stay. We won't be back.
