Booked afternoon tea as a special treat for 5 of us, mums first little holiday since we lost dad last year. From the very first phone to book, everyone we came across was super friendly and professional. We were given the best table in the window with a fantastic view of the straights and the afternoon tea itself was incredible, really generous and delicious (we needed 2 boxes for the cakes we couldn’t manage!) It was very good value for money too. Would love to return and stay overnight sometime soon. Huge thanks for looking after us so well.

We had our elopement at Château Rhianfa on a micro wedding package, and from start to finish the experience was exceptional. From our initial email enquiry, to the wedding fayre we attended, and even the afternoon tea after we had fallen in love with the venue, every single member of staff went above and beyond. They made us feel just as special as if we had booked the entire venue for a large event, even though it was just the two of us and our two witnesses. We would especially like to mention a few members of staff by name. Delyth, who first met with us, was a true ray of light and incredibly knowledgeable. Claire on reception was warm, bubbly and full of life, instantly putting us at ease throughout our stay. Geo, the Food and Beverage Manager, was welcoming and great fun, nothing was too much trouble, and his wine recommendation was spot on. The limoncello went down a treat! A special thank you from the heart goes to Elin, who works incredibly hard and ensured everything ran smoothly on the day. She knew the order of events inside out, and was both professional and attentive at every moment. The food was outstanding. From the afternoon tea on arrival, to the proper Welsh breakfasts, canapés after the ceremony, and an evening meal we will remember for a long time to come, every detail was perfect. Château Rhianfa is such a special place, and we look forward to returning for years to come. Once again, thank you to all the staff for making our day so memorable.

“Quirky hotel with lovely views”

Booked a room for one night before getting ferry. Interesting building with some lovely public rooms, but layout is quite strange. For example, the 2 bars are in small rooms with no windows, and the restaurant has no character, but there are other lovely rooms with characterful features that aren’t… lisää

Booked a room for one night before getting ferry. Interesting building with some lovely public rooms, but layout is quite strange. For example, the 2 bars are in small rooms with no windows, and the restaurant has no character, but there are other lovely rooms with characterful features that aren’t well used eg drawing room, morning room and the room next door to the restaurant that is used for the buffet. Also a split level building so a lot of stairs to get down to restaurant & bar and down onto the terrace (lovely views). Terrace was a lovely spot for a drink but a long walk to the bar which wasn’t easy to find. Our room was in the lodge which is quite a walk from the main building (plus 2 flights up to reception). Though you can move your car round to park by the lodge we had already taken our luggage into reception not realising how far we would have to take it. Small clean modern room, fine for one night, but very hot (it was 33c heatwave) with room being south facing, large windows, no air con or fan. Those with mobility issues would struggle. Very friendly service. Restaurant is very expensive at £70 for 3 courses. The food was good but felt overpriced. I rarely eat 3 courses so I would prefer à la carte or at least the choice of 2 courses.

The Chateau is certainly an amazing property with many unique architectural features. The views are beautiful and the gardens are well cared for. The Chateau is certainly an amazing property with many unique architectural features. The views are beautiful and the gardens are well cared for. The lounges have many unusual features, the large wooden doors and the design on the ceilings. However, whilst this is a listed building, the bedrooms are in dire need of renovating. Our room, the Beaumaris, had extremely old battered furniture with a broken wardrobe. The bed was very comfortable with good linens and fluffy towels. The bathroom was large with two showers but nowhere to put any toiletries, just a small glass shelf. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very good the service was excellent and the staff were helpful and friendly. Whilst we enjoyed our stay we were disappointed with our room. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night beautifully presented very tasty but expensive. The location itself is very convenient for driving or walking to explore beautiful Beaumaris.
