“Wonderful experience”
What an amazing place to spend the night. Appleby Castle, absolutely stunning. Two 16th century four-poster beds in our bedroom (State Room) and walls adorned with 16th century tapestries. “Stunning”
Just back from a two night stay upgraded the first night to one of the big rooms full of character from sloping room to squeaky floorboards all add to this quirky old castle so quiet with stunning views people need to remember it's impossible to convert to a modern day hotel as it's a 900 year old … lisää

“Full of character”
What a treat it was to stay in this Norman castle. The food was lovely and the staff are really chilled out. Dining by candle light in the banquet hall with a pianist was the highlight for us. “Superb venue!!”
We had a wonderful stay at Appleby Castle. We were made so welcome by hosts Sally and Peter. The room was adequate for a castle. “Ghost Town”
Visited the castle grounds and the Norman Centre. The castle is a beautiful building, and the grounds are pretty to wander around, but they are also not very well kept, and the whole place seemed a bit run down. Some of the paths in the grounds were closed for maintenance, which was reassuring, but… lisää
