“Great modern apartment fantastic location”

We decided to return to the South Lakes Zoo since we hadn’t been for nearly 10 yrs & decided if we did we would stop over as we live in newcastle and it’s a long day to drive there in morning & straight back in 1 day so I looked for accommodation close by. I came across the Abbey Apartments in Barrow-in-Furness only a ten minute drive from the zoo and being a young family we wanted to be close to bars & restaurants but have our own space not a pokey hotel room. The apartment is perfect I booked the penthouse (number 3) for the night and the location is perfect and comes with a onsite parking space which is a bonus being in a town centre. The apartment itself is very modern and I’d say very recently converted or re decorated as it’s spotless and the sofas still have their tags on them. The penthouse has 2 good double bedrooms with king size beds there’s a family bathroom with a bath and a separate shower and there’s a cosy living room/ kitchen diner wit all mod cons 60” curved tv with sky ,free internet , electric hobb a washing machine that I doubt has ever been used as that also has the big sticker on the drum door & everything you have at home plates glasses knives forks condiments iron ironing board everything although we didn’t use any of them they are there ! The beds are very comfortable for a rental. The location is brilliant we visited the ODD FROG restaurant /bar which is a 2 minute walk from the Abbey road entrance (turn left when exiting apartment block from Abbeyroad entrance) it’s a live music modern bar / restaurant that serve Tapas I strongly recommend visiting & in the morning again if you exit the apartment from the Abbey road entrance if you turn right this time & walk approx 4 minutes you’ll find Weatherspoons which we all know is a great stop off point to grab breakfast before you set off on your day there’s also a Tesco Extra about a 10 min walk from the apartment if you want to dine in and a dominos , subway ,McDonald’s all walkable. I would highly recommend the abbey apartments if you looking to stop in Barrow-in-Furness.

“Home from home”

We stayed here our first 2 nights of road trip to the lakes and Scotland. Check-in is done independently; with easy to follow instructions for access to your apartment key and room. We stayed here our first 2 nights of road trip to the lakes and Scotland. Check-in is done independently; with easy to follow instructions for access to your apartment key and room. The apartment is very well appointed and modern. It smelt really nice on entry too. A small thing you could argue; but first impressions count. There’s good living space for 4 adults over 2 bedrooms, one with an en-suite. The kitchen is fully equipped, including white goods. Think self-catering if you’re using the Facilites for more than a few days though. Washing powders, foodstuffs etc...these aren’t included, with the exception of coffee, tea, milk and sugar. TV, satellite included. This is a very well managed operation. We’d use again on subsequent trips.

“Neat, clean & beautiful Stay”

Fantastic country side building with all modern amenities.... We had a very quick & easy check in with all information prior to our arrival. Any small doubts & it got resolved in couple of minutes with just a message. Prompt service I should say. In centre of town so all was really in walking dis… lisää

Any small doubts & it got resolved in couple of minutes with just a message. Prompt service I should say. In centre of town so all was really in walking distance... We enjoyed our family holiday break as my son could watch the World Cup match on big screen TV which had Sky connection.

“Lovely place to stay”

I've just came back from a weekend stay at the Abbey Apartments. The apartment is centrally located in Barrow with private off street parking which was a bonus. We stayed in apartment 1 on the ground floor and it was decorated to a high standard and very spacious. Tea, coffee and sugar are provided… lisää

I've just came back from a weekend stay at the Abbey Apartments. The apartment is centrally located in Barrow with private off street parking which was a bonus. We stayed in apartment 1 on the ground floor and it was decorated to a high standard and very spacious. Tea, coffee and sugar are provided in the fully equipped kitchen. The TV has freeview but also the full Sky TV package with movies and sports. There is also a wifi hub in the apartment which had a great connection. If I was to visit Barrow in Furness again I would definitely look in to booking this place again.
