“Great hotel for a weekend trip”

Great hotel located in the centre of a thriving town. Everything you could need is in walking distance. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel breakfast is a must have and great value for money

Great hotel in the town centre with its own car park on a first come first served basis Hotel close to town bars, restaurants and festival place shopping centre Our room on the 3rd floor (there's a lift) was well decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean Breakfast was self serve, the food was great quality and piping hot. Our stay had to be cut short due to a family bereavement and the management very kindly agreed a refund on our bill. Special mention to the receptionist who was really kind when we had to leave early Also to the young lady front of house in the Breakfast room who was extremely helpful, friendly and very attentive, a great asset Will certainly visit again when in the area and can highly recommend the hotel

“Good value and close to town centre and station”

The Red Lion is located centrally to Basingstoke town centre and within easy walking distance from the railway station. Although this hotel is well-used and a little worn, the rooms are clean, light and spacious, bed linen was fresh and crisp and we had lots of fluffy towels. The breakfasts were … lisää

The Red Lion is located centrally to Basingstoke town centre and within easy walking distance from the railway station. Although this hotel is well-used and a little worn, the rooms are clean, light and spacious, bed linen was fresh and crisp and we had lots of fluffy towels. The breakfasts were hot and freshly cooked and the lady that managed the breakfast room couldn't have been more kind and helpful. The same goes for the reception staff who were all friendly and went the extra mile to make sure we had the help we needed to make our stay pleasant. This isn't a luxury hotel but excellent value for money and I would recommend it, especially if, like us you are walking the Camino Ingles and want overnight accommodation.
