We booked around 10 rooms for a family wedding on March 26th. They gave us a room on the night before to host 40 friends and family for food. We booked around 10 rooms for a family wedding on March 26th. They gave us a room on the night before to host 40 friends and family for food. The room was set up beautifully, food amazing and staff fantastic. On the day they made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Considering this wasnt the wedding venue they went well above and beyond what we expected. Would like to thank John and all the staff for helping to make an amazing couple of days

“Brilliant value for money”

Hotel is lovely and our room was beautiful. The spa is brilliant the pool is so warm and the sauna and steam room were brilliant. The breakfast was 5 star and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Hotel is lovely and our room was beautiful. The spa is brilliant the pool is so warm and the sauna and steam room were brilliant. The breakfast was 5 star and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The evening meals, the curry was amazing only point was I would have preferred it served on plate for me, as the porcelain bowls they were in were hot and no handles, but very good. The chicken tikka skewer was brilliant , the chicken risotto the chicken breast served on risotto was over cooked and dry. The puddings were a bit if a let down passion fruit cheese cake was still partly frozen but also warm like it had been defrosted in a microwave. The strawberry Pavlova was a disappointment as obviously black tinned strawberries and shop brought meringue . The young lad serving us showed little people skills and was not very welcoming. When asked if the curry was hot or mild said how would he know as he had never eaten it 🤣🤣🤣 however the hotel is beautiful set near the wonderful Clumber park worth a walk around a nd overall excellent value for money .

“Needs attention!”

Myself and my mother stayed in this beautiful hotel for one night. I booked a twin room and on arrival we were given a double room. Myself and my mother stayed in this beautiful hotel for one night. I booked a twin room and on arrival we were given a double room. The staff very kindly moved us to another room which had a double bed and a single bed in it. But on closer inspection, the cups and spoon left for tea/coffee were still dirty! So were the glasses for the none existent complimentary bottles of water! Again, reception very kindly provided us with clean ones. When I got into the single bed, I noticed the single duvet was even more narrow than the bed itself! It was actually a 10.5tog double duvet folded in half and placed into a single duvet cover!! This to me is all lazy behaviour. House keeping should always be on the ball?! Very disappointing! Hot breakfast has gone from self service to ordering. I asked for scrambled egg and mushrooms on toast. The kitchen said they'd cook the egg and mushrooms for me, but I'd have to do the toast myself and pour the breakfast onto the toast when brought out to me on the plate! Again, the standard has slipped since I last stayed! (I was told to find someone when ready to order hot food, why can't it be table service if you have to order from the table menu?) Spa facilities were amazing! Pool lovely and warm! Perfect!
