“Wonderful weekend away”

Our stay here was wonderful! Beautiful grounds and buildings. We went for a Junior Deluxe room, I requested the Winchelsea and I received a call a couple of days before our arrival checking if we wanted a dinner reservation in the restaurant and confirming this room was reserved for us. It was a lovely room, very clean and warm and toasty. A huge bathroom with a walk in shower and a lovely bath, robes and slippers and fantastic underfloor heating and lovely toiletries. The bed was big and super comfy and the lovely homemade biscuits and Nespresso machine just topped it all off. There was a small amount of noise from the room upstairs when they walked around but nothing excessive and I think expected given the age of the buildings. Otherwise it was very quiet. Yes, there is no milk in the rooms but actually it's nice not to have the hum of a refrigerator in the room or those little plastic long life milks. We could have requested the milk be brought to our room but as we were very close to reception, it was no trouble to pop down to get some milk. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night which was delicious. The second night we popped down to The Bridge Inn for a change of scene, also recommend! The breakfast was also delicious and plentiful. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I have to admit, I normally always check Trip Advisor reviews before booking anywhere but in this case I didn't! When I did look at some of the reviews later, I was slightly concerned I had made a mistake but as I discovered, I had absolutely nothing to worry about. Thanks for a lovely stay!
